T-Top replica in my Jimmy Page custom Les Paul Video

As title said, got a T-Top replica using an old gibson humbucker with different magnet inside and try this in my Les Paul, heavily modified on Jimmy Page specs. It sounds awesome, better than my old 57 classic plus and more hotter than the T-top I had before. There are probabilities than it will be my permanent pickup on this guitar. Thanks to MrRhoads that has helped me a lot! I know the songs are always the same but if you compare my past videos, you coul hear the differences in vibe and tone. New string ernie ball 0.9 on, marshall jcm 600 set at: bass 4, mids 10, treble 10, presence 8 and overdrive at 6

MrRhoads26: Oh yeah :D I did hear "TRUE" T-Top sound :D I whish i had tried this before ordering T-Tops replicas. Absolutely lovely sound and i love that you turn up the mids :D My Peavey goes to 12 on the knobs but i use 6/11/10 bass/mid/treble
bassman3212: Dude i loved the video!! you make me so jealous i want that tone! im in love with that tone haha. by far this new tone sounds so much like pages. you play so awesome man! it does sound better dude. this is prolly a dumb question... but could i get a sound like that if i bought a t-top replica and put it on my epiphone les paul standard? or it wouldnt be the same without having like a gibson 58 les paul? or a les paul all together..?
goodfella514: Pure Talent!
gnrledzep4eva: sounds great!
sidonunez: First of all it sounds great. You said you used an old gibson humbucker with a different magnet inside. What kind of kind of humbucker is it and which magnet did you put in it.?
JimmyPage86: Well, depends of your guitar. If it's chambered, you won't get that "full" tone of the whole wood, even with good pickups. For this reason, I dislike this kind of instruments. Anyway, it's a matter of tastes and a very important thing is the amp too: with a good amp you get a good tone, simple but it's so. Anyway, thanks for watching and appreciating, hope this could help in your tone quest. :) Andrew
JimmyPage86: The replica is quite simple: the now 490 are identical to T-Tops, except for the different magnet and wax potting. They are neck spaced, have same output (7.5k - 7.9k) and same winding material (polyurethane, pink-orangey coloured). Look at the specs, they are on the net. Thanks 4 watching and appreciating!
JimmyPage86: Thanks!
bassman3212: Thanks dude. all this stuff is so over my head, ive been playing for a year, but im not like super smart when it comes to pickups, amps, and how to get a pagey tone. i sorta have one i get on my marshall, but its no where near as good as your tone. i wish i had alot of money and i could i just pay someone to me all the gear i needed. haha if i ever have 1000's to spend, ill just find someone like you to set me up with a guitar with that pagey tone. lol ill never be rich so that wont happen lol
sidonunez: Thanks so much and I know what pickup I'll be looking for now.
powerslim: Since a few of those songs were recorded by Page on a Tele and this obviously sounds like the songs it seems like the Page sound would fall more or less under generic. Is it really that important for one to have a T-Top in a Les Paul to get the sound of Page on a Telecaster?
JimmyPage86: No. What I'm trying to get is getting close to his LIVE sound, what he achieved to do on stage with his Les Paul only. He's know to have used a PAF in the neck and a T-Top in the bridge. That's the important thing, to me.
noahwayne: Looked all over the web and there are many variations on wiring. How exactly have you got this one wired?? Can you direct me towards a site with the wiring diagram that you use. So far I've found many different options. Very confused.
sidonunez: Like noahwayne asked about the diagram and also is your 490 pickup a 2 or 4 wire conductor?
eddiepagechicago: Hell yeah bro... Great attack and tone while doing Celebration!!!
cfckmk108: @noahwayne You don't have to wire the pickups any different to install the pickups. If you want to get that middle "quack", go to Seymour Duncan's website, and they have a bunch of different wiring diagrams. For a LP, look for the humbucker diagram for 2 humbuckers, 2 volumes, 2 tones, phase switch.
cfckmk108: @sidonunez I did this replica along with Jimmypage86, and mine is a 2-conductor 490r that I got off of ebay for $40. I don't know about his, but I know that you can do a phase switch with either a 2 conductor or 4.
llZosoll: did T-tops have unbalanced coils? i know gibson started using machines to wind their pickups during the T-Top era, so the coils would be balanced, right?
JimmyPage86: Yeah, balanced coils. T-tops are the post-PAF pickups, which were unbalanced. The evolution line is clear, as you said ;)
JimmyPage86: Thanks!!! Merry Christmas!
llZosoll: your tone has gotten A LOT better since the first video you posted! i like it
