getplaning: Read the book, "Lost History" by Robert Parry. Available from his website, consortiumnews. The concept of "perception management" was begun by the Nixon administration and taken to a new level by the Reagan administration. Anyone who was paying attention saw that the entire Bush administration was little more than the most ambitious public relations campaign in history. These lessons have not been lost on the Obama administration. Hopefully, Americans have learned their lesson.
