1981! I think I wrote this when I was 14 or something... At the time I "discovered" Domenico Scarlatti - I determined to begin to write my own "Esercizi" as he originally named them - I did about a dozen and this was the first but really the only one that sounded like him - even the 2nd one starts to sound more like "me" and by the 3rd I simply wrote what I wanted. I call these dozen "Etudes" which became really a "catch all" for things that didn't fit other categories. ...
