Over 100 demand RECALL of DC Mayor Video

n August 5, an event at the Wardman Park Marriott that Mayor Fenty was supposed to show up at drew over 100 protesters. Fenty did NOT show up-knowing that after giving nearly as much to the Marriott for the Convention Center hotel as he is taking from the poor in budget cuts, this would be too explosive politically for even him.

Empower DC was on hand, as were unions and seemingly representatives of every community Fenty has betrayed since being elected.

DC government workers and union folks showed up to warn that continuing to destroy city services as well as put people out of their jobs would have consequences

Supporters of education, child care, homeless shelters-all those services Fenty is cutting to the bone or destroying outright-all came together in what is believed to be the largeast coalition to date against Fenty.
