Mutilate PvE Rotation tips (patch 3.2) Video

Reading how to do things isn't for everyone. So i decided to make a video showing and explaining how to do mutilate pve rotation. Hope it helps teach new rogues how to do better dps. Or if you're a bit rusty, hope it reminds you. Sorry for bad quality xD

MH (Main hand): Instant Poison
OH (Off Hand): Deadly Poison

1. Open with Garrote
2. HfB
3. Mutilate x 1
4. SnD
5. Mutilate to 4-5 pts
6. Rupture
7. Mutilate to 4-5 pts
8. Envenom
9. Repeat steps 5-8.

tip: make sure you mutilate and envenom on the tick of deadly poison to maximise dps. If you can, try and mutilate and envenom on a rupture tick also to maximise dps.

tip: always pool your energy, never spam mutilate.

tip: Priority; HfB, Snd and rupture.

tip: use finishers at 4-5 pts.

tip: make sure deadly poison is always on 5 stacks.

drummerchristofski: Instant on your main hand, deadly on your off hand.

wsk9999: hi, i really like ur rotation and i would like to get a little more help about weapons, should i use faster weapon on main hand or off hand, or how could i do more dps ?

drummerchristofski: Slow main hand because it doesn't have the timer swing doubled unlike your off hand. Always have a fast off hand because the timer for the swing of the weapon is doubled e.g. a 1.5 sec speed dagger in the off hand would be doubled to 3 sec and if you used a 1.8 sec dagger it would take 3.6 sec to swing.

drummerchristofski: Only use it if your deadly poison stack is gona fall off and you don't have enough energy to mutilate. But tbh mutilate usually re-applys deadly poison so there really isn't any need to use it as much as it used to be used.

liquidpyramid: I just specced mut, I've been combat since lvl 10. It's a sweet rotation but any suggestion on what I should put in my offhand to go with Black Knight's Rondel? I actually have two of them but 1.8 is probably way too slow to put in the OH.

drummerchristofski: Well it depends on what you raid, whether its heroics, 10 mans, 25 mans, heroic 10 and 25 mans. If you raid 25 mans and 10 and 25 man heroics, then go for any fast dagger for the off hand. You're aiming for speeds of 1.4 to 1.5 seconds for the off hand dagger for fast poison applications.

timmayfreak109: how much dps did u pull?

drummerchristofski: On the target dummy, I think it was 3.7k dps unbuffed.

RemoDominiquePrete: So patch 3.2 and 3.3 we can savely use fast dagger off hand in 25, and 10/25 heroics. Tho what is the big difference between a fast or slow dagger for off hand in dps? Also, if someone have, lets say, 2 rondels, and gets later on a dast dagger 1.50 speed with more dmg/dps. Use it in main hand cuz of dmg or off hand for its speed?

Snipererer: question. i noticed that mutilate is a 1 target spec...meaning if combat you base your dps off of spaming fan of knives(face rolling) is it best to dual spec for like raid toc? so for the final boss you can get adds faster in combat but do the other fights as mut.

drummerchristofski: Next patch notes for assasination: Asssassination •Improved Poisons now increases the chance to apply Deadly poison to your target by 4/8/12/16/20%. (Up from 2/4/6/8/10%) Poisons •Deadly Poison now has an additional effect - Once stacked to 5 times, each application of Deadly Poison also causes the poison on the Rogue's other weapon to apply.

drummerchristofski: Thats not really true, despite what people say. In heroic 5 mans, combat has a lot of cooldowns that can do good aoe dmg on those groups of 3-4 mobs (killing spree, blade flurry hits another target, and ofc adrenaline rush/FoC spam). Where as mutilate just has FoC spam from the energy regen buff from comming out of stealth. In a way they can both be good at aoe, or single target, it all depends on how well you can play each spec. And yes it is best to dual spec combat/ass in totc.

drummerchristofski: hence, why i said it was to increase dps, not to keep the stacks up...

neonanaki48: it's only to increase the "dps" on recount anyway, you never NEEDED to do it in the first place. plus it's just good practice for pooling energy
