Me: Im still so grounded.
Lizzie: How long?
Me: October 15th.
Lizzie: My dad grounded me until October 3rd. But Im on constant watch over. Cant be out of his sight.
Me: But were at school.
Lizzie: He gave me that phone that only lets me call him, mom, my brother and 9-1-1. And it tracks my every move.
Me: What about shower? And sleeping? And getting dressed?
Lizzie: Well I can shower alone and get dressed alone, and he put a BABY MONITOR in my room! How messed up is that?
Me: Very. My dad better not talk to yours and get any ideas.
Lizzie: Youre a great friend. *rolls eyes*
Me: Oh please. How long is the watch over for?
Lizzie: Until my mom convinces him Im fine. *sighs* Hows your stomach?
Me: Good.

Caras P.O.V:
It had been two weeks since I had lost the baby and it was my first day back. I hadnt seen Lizzie since the hospital in New York City with us being grounded and all. Darren had been avoiding me. And I hadnt seen Jake.

And then I saw him, on crutches walking down the hall.

Jake: Hey Cara.
Me: Hey Jake. Hows the knee?
Jake: Good. Get to walk free in two weeks.
Me: Good.
Jake: So I need a favor.
Me: Of course. *smirks*
Jake: Im failing English.
Me: I know. Im Mrs. Walshs student aide. I grade your papers.
Jake: Yet youre doing great.
Me: I guess.
Jake: Can you tutor me?
Me: No way.
Jake: Oh come on!

Why should I? He didnt even try to call me after the whole mess! He was a huge jerk!

But yet, I knew it was right.

Me: *sighs* Fine. Come to my house at four thirty and well start.
Jake: Cool. See you then. *walks off*
Lizzie: Are you crazy?
Me: Yep.

*Later*
I set up snacks and books in my room. Dad came up.

Kevin: What are you doing?
Me: Im tutoring someone English.
Kevin: Who?
Me: Jake.
Kevin: That boy who went to N.Y.C with you?
Me: Yeah the one that was smart enough NOT to drink.
Kevin: Youre not allowed to have boys up here.
Me: Dad were not even friends.
Kevin: I dont care, tutor downstairs.
Me: I cant, Brenden has a friend over.
Kevin: Cara-
Me: Please!
Kevin: I dont think-
Jake: *comes in* Hey, hard walk up the stairs.
Me: Oh please. Stop being such a baby and shut your mouth weve got work to do.
Jake: Im not the one with carebears in her room!
Kevin: Alright, alright, I get it. You two hate each other. Just keep the door open. *leaves*

*An Hour Later*

Me: OK, now that youre done making fun of every single thing about my room, lets get some work done. Were reading Romeo and Juliet (A/N: Im seriously reading that for English. And while its a great romance story, its SO hard to read. I almost threw mine out the window today!). Lets read the balcony scene and see what it is you dont get.
Jake: OK. You be Juliet.
Me: Oh Romeo, Romeo. Where for art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name or if thou will not but be sworn my love and I will never be a Capulet.
Jake: Shall I hear more or shall I speak at this? *pauses* Who talks like this?
Me: Its a timeless story. Its romantic. The language doesnt matter. Lets just go on. Whats in a name? That a hitch we will call a rose by another word would smell so sweet.
Jake: I think youre sweet.
Me: Thats not what Romeo said.
Jake: Cant I be a modern day Romeo? *kisses her*

My first thought was to pull away, smack him and tell him to get a new tutor.

But I didnt. I let him kiss me and kiss me and kiss me until all of my lip gloss was gone. I even kissed him back!

Me: Wow.
Jake: Yeah. *looks into her eyes*
Me: JakeI.I.just.II cant be with you.
Jake: Why not?
Me: My heart belongs to someone else.
Jake: Who.

I was silent.

Jake: Exactly. *kisses her again*
Me: *pulls away* My dads downstairs.
Jake: So?
Me: He could come up any minute.
Jake: Again I say so?
Me: If my dad comes up here and were making out, hell (a) ground me even longer (b) we wont be able to date (c) he wont let me tutor you and youll fail English and (d) he will kill you.
Jake: No he wont.
Me: OK when I was six, I had a playdate with this boy Matt and Matt gave me a hug and my dad almost beat him up.
Jake: Oh.
Me: Yeah.
Jake: Well, when can we get together?
Me: Im grounded until the 15th of October.
Jake: Wow.
Me: Yeah.
Jake: Well this is good-bye, but just for now. *kisses her lips softly*
Me: Oh Jake dont go. *pulls him close and begins to make out with him*

We just sat on my bed making out. Until we heard the screaming. We broke apart fast.
