Pantera - I'm Broken cover 29/3/08 Video

More Pantera.

I'd been putting this one off as the solo is tricky. Just about there in this version though. It's about 10% slower than the "proper" backing - so Guitar Pro used again (135bpm instead of 148). There's a couple of missed harmonics - which are usually ok, but see my pain note below! - & the end of the solo could be tidied up a tad - but not bad for about 6 hours worth from scratch.

There's a lot of whammy bar action on the original - but the track is also tuned a whole tone lower than standard, so I was having problems with the vibrato arm balance & notes high on the neck choking. I used the EBMM EVH as the vibrato isn't free floating - it's blocked so the note can only be lowered with the arm - thus no problems with the spring tensions & no change in string height. It does mean that I don't use the vibrato arm at all & try to bend the notes instead. This hurt after a few hours & I was wimping out of some of the bends - I even took a photo of my fingers. "I'm Broken" - how ironic. Ho ho ho.
