Okay the story thing is in here! [It's written from Selena's POV]

I yawned as the sun came from my window and warmed my room. I look down beside me and saw my little sister Emily sleeping. She had come in last night, crying, because my mom and dad were fighting again. It was quiet so I figured they had left. I got out of bed and took a shower and brushed my teeth. I came out of the bathroom and saw Emily sitting on my bed plugging her ears. I was about to ask why when I heard a loud crash from downstairs. Emily looked up at me with her brown eyes and said "Selena we gots to go." She had her bag already packed and laying next to her on my bed. I sighed and got my bag. We always kept them packed incase we had to leave unexpectedly. I pulled my curtains aside and opened my window. There was a ladder that went from my room to the backyard so Emily and I could make quick escapes when my parents fought. Origionally, when my parents still loved each other, it was for emergencies like fires or when a person broke into our house. I slung my bag over my shoulder and told Emily to go down first. She climbed down and I followed. When I got to the bottom I realized I forgot my shoes. I was about to go back and get them when I heard a shout from inside the house. I decided to walk barefoot. We arrived at Hilary's house and I knocked on the door. Hilary and I had been best friends since kindergarden and she told me I could always come to her house when my parents fought. She was a great friend. Hilary's mom opened the door and I gave her a weak smile. She knew from that look on my face, the bag swung over my shoulder, and the fact that I had no shoes on that my parents were fighting. She gave me a big a hug and invited me in. She always made it seem like I was just there for a play-date. Like nothing was wrong
