Fireworks at Hotel Emporio Zacatecas, Mexico November 2008 Video

There was a fireworks display in the plaza at the hotel I was staying at (Hotel Emporio Zacatecas) on Nov. 12, 2008. It was during a week where there was an event that included leaders from around Latin America. I was there for a circuit board test installation in Fresnillo along with my customer, John Liebengood, who filmed the fireworks from the plaza while I was in my fifth floor hotel room with a birds-eye view! We knew something was going to take place as we drove up to the hotel on Wednesday. Workers were setting up this 5-story tower with a sign on it which read "El Volcan" (The Volcano). Toward the end of the video you can see the top piece flying off. It landed about a mile and a half away and looked like a meteor at one point. Coolness!! There was a band seated at the plaza near the old cathedral (built circa 1615 and visible sometimes to the left). There were times band members had to brush the sparks/fallout off their sheets of music!
