3D SlapDash Odyssey Trailer Video

*NOTE: This is not a real game... YET!*
Sorry guys, no Star Fox in this one. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

This was my group's absolute Final Project in our Multimedia course. I now have my Associates Degree and am now in the first quarter of my Bachelors in Game Design.

My group, the same 4 guys from the last video, designed a game concept about a year ago. We've been tweaking and thinking on it for a while.
For our Capstone Project, the final project of the entire course, we decided to make a Teaser Trailer for it.
It's called "SlapDash Odyssey" and it's totally awesome. Not to sound egotistical. I just mean that we are very proud of it and simply making the trailer was a joy.

Info on the game:
It is a side scrolling Beat 'em Up with four playable characters. Up to four player can play simultaneously on the same screen. Think of it like Streets of Rage or Final Fight, but with 3D graphics.
The four characters are each representative of a style of movie. Neelsen Grey is a film noir style detective. Kawasaki Joe is a stealthy ninja assassin. Flint Westwood is a rough and tumble cowboy. Juice Leroy is an afro kung fu monk.

Now, the "game" right now is just a concept . The only think about it we have is documents with descriptions of characters, stages and enemies. Drawings of the 4 characters, their 4 girlfriends who they must save (unfortunately not featured in the video) and over 50 enemies. And this video is the only 3D representation of the game we've created. Everything in the video, with the exception of the audio was completely created by our group.

I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it. Also notice the sweet Cel-Shaded style we used. I tried to mix the style of The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker and Viewtiful Joe.

dustymountain: looks good so far lolz, get voice actors for the characters.

Kalamoona: We actually already have voice actors in mind. Though, until it actually becomes a real game, if it does, we'd have no way of paying for voice direction.

StarWolf597: Awesome! I like how you ripped off Clint Eastwood to make Flint Westwood. LOL :D

Kalamoona: I personally would call it "homage" rather than "ripping off." Our group is a fan of many old movies and actors, and tried to base characters, enemies and stages off of them out of respect and goodhearted parody. You may or may not have also noticed Juice Leroy who's name is based on Bruce Lee's and who's design is based on Jim Kelly (Williams from Enter the Dragon).

dustymountain: If your making this a non-profit game, there are tones of people who will voice act for you for free, no they aren't stupid kids ether. Rina-chan from newgrounds job is a voice actress, but she voice acts for non-profit flash all the time. Kirbopher, psyguy, etc are elite. (newgrounds)

Kalamoona: I appreciate it. And the Polar Bear is a villain. He and the whale he rides cause havoc in the Antarctic. That's why Juice kicked him.
