James Dante Kings was a senior at Booker T. Washington High School.He had been awarded a music scholarship to attend Manhattan School of Music. On March 28th, 2008, six months before he was to attend the famed New York City music college his life ended tragically.While on a field trip with his high school band, inadequately supervised, he bowed to peer pressure to try marijuana for the first time...
it was to be his last time. Reacting badly to the drug, he flew into a psychotic state and ran outside and onto the nearby freeway. He was hit and killed by an oncoming car.
James was a talented, young believer who woke up one morning with the world before him, never dreaming it would be his last. Drummers for Jesus joins his family in praying that James' story will serve as a cautionary tale...to parents...to young people...to us all. His life was too brief...but with Jesus, it's never for nothing....
