How to make a 3D landscape from a 2D image: After Effects Tutorial Video
http://www.dudeinadrama.com
This is a cool little effect I've seen done all over the palace and a LOT in small flash adverts usually for computer games like Dragon Age, World of Warcraft or some similar RPG/MMO. I've seen it before on TV and it when done really well it can make your head go "whhooaa" Like your Keanu Reaves and you've just seen something cool.
This is also a cool little introduction to the world of cameras! Cameras can make some cool dynamic effects and this tutorial is an easy way to learn the basics!
slym2k: Hi, I saw this when looking for videos of 3d landscapes in AfterEffects. From my experiences, this is great for a panning effect, but when you try to zoom, the foreground perspective gets a little odd. Another great way to do it is to use the Vanishing Point option in Photoshop, draw in the perspectives, and save the files. You can import Vanishing Point data into After Effects, and with the right photo, the output is amazing! I've messed with both techniques on my channel. Anyway, good work!
Rajivk7: AWESOME BRAH
Rajivk7: if you are so smart, why don't you make a video tutorial for yourself
slym2k: Why the snark? I like the tutorial, gave some great information. Just sharing a couple different ways on how to simulate 3d using a 2d photo.
