Nobody is ever ready to receive the message that he or she is HIV positive. That is because HIV/aids changes your life dramatically and it will determine your future, not a thing that people are waiting for. The Stigma is still very high. Therefore too many prefer to keep silent about their status. By doing so they make themselves prisoners of their own conception.

La Prison du Silence (prison of silence), shot in Ivory Coast, tells the stories of a number of people who are willing to break the chains. They talk openly about their experiences. They are people who believe in their future, but have to fight rejection by others ever since the virus became known some 25 years ago. For all of them it is possible to lead a positive life, being HIV positive.
