میردامادی در مراسم افتتاحیه کنگره جبهه مشارکت گفته بود: "قرار نبود فقط در تریبون های جهانی مثل سازمان ملل برای نبودن آزادی در آمریکا و اروپا فریاد بر آوریم و اشک حسرت بیفشانیم، اما حقوق اساسی و انسانی شهروندان ایرانی را از یاد ببریم.قرار بود نظام ما جمهوری اسلامی باشد و جمهوری آن به تعبیر ایشان همان جمهوری است که در سایر کشورها هست. قرار بود میزان رأی ملت باشد نه آنکه چند نفر به جای ملت و به نام ملت تصمیم بگیرند و چنان دایره اراده خود را تنگ کنند که پیشگامان انقلاب و دفاع مقدس نیز خارج از صلاحیت قرار گیرند.قرار نبود در نظام جمهوری اسلامی معنویت و اخلاق و ملیت در جامعه ایرانی تضعیف شود و یا آزادی و دموکراسی و حقوق بشر و عقلانیت و توسعه و همه آن مفاهیمی که به دنیای جدید و تجربه های موفق بشر مربوط است، مغفول بماند."حالا دکتر محسن میردامادی مرد پرشور و نشاطی که 30 سال برای پیشبرد انقلاب در صف اول ایستاده بود، حالا در دادگاهی به عنوان متهم ردیف اول نشسته است.شاید او هیچ گاه فکر نمی کرد که او را با پیژامه و دمپایی در دادگاه بنشانند تا تحقیرش کنند و هیچ گاه فکرش را نمی کرد روزی متهم به براندازی انقلابی شود که از جوانی برای ریشهدار شدنش زحمت کشیده است. آری حتی فکرش را هم نمی کرد. ا

Dr. Mohsen Mirdamadi, the energetic and full of life man who 30 years ago was at the front line for making progress in the revolution, is now at the front line of the court as the defendant. Maybe he never thought that one day they would make him sit with pajamas and slippers in a court room to humiliate him. Maybe he never thought that one day he would be accused of trying to overthrow the same revolution that from his youth he suffered to strengthen. Surely he never thought of it
