You're parroting a dad who is the archetypal "conservative brother in law" (many families have one - so it's an archetype). With your incredulous stretching and spin to find an interpretation of the vid. in question that saves Beck, you're defending your dad. Not saying this is a bad thing. It's a natural thing, unless you continue that way into adulthood (keeping the same ideas or not).

99rhetbaboons: A recent big story was the hoopla over Obama wanting to do a lot of talking, so the joke was to say he's going to talk to forest fires. Another recent big story in current events is the wide spread derision of Beck; not his reports of getting death threats, which are such a small part of the whole picture that it would constitute an inside joke to make a vid. lampooning it. It's something only Beck has talked about, not an event widely reported as happening to Beck more so than others...

99rhetbaboons: In other words, the purported death threats (Beck is famously fast and loose with the facts) are too small a part of the whole story. It would be like theonion was writing jokes only for Beck's audience. Would that make sense? And there are lines in the vid that aren't in keeping with the theme you suggest, like, "I heard screaming and thought it was Beck...". That's funny if there is a consensus out there that Beck is shrill. If there wasn't, that line wouldn't make any sense.

99rhetbaboons: No need. It's obvious to the silent majority; but it's not important enough for most of us to stop and tell you. So, you go through life thinking you've fooled everyone. When someone like Beck or Limbaugh pulls that ole switcheroo where they try to take something liberals said first, like using the term "demagogue" as if Limbaugh et al. thought of it first, people just do not bother themselves to get word out that they're aware of how transparent it is, so you go through life thinking it worked.

99rhetbaboons: I think Limbaugh and all the Frank Burns, angry-dad am radio clown acts are spaz cases, but I'd rather next to them than live in a poor neighborhood or low rent apartment. If you haven't experienced it, you don't know where the real monsters live. Do you really think Hitler could have got anything done if not for the Good Germans?

seoulc: Since coming home from Afghanistan earlier this year I've realized that the only people I fought for were the people for peace. I killed people who were wearin flip flops.
