Alcatrazz Suffer Me Video
Formed in 1983, Alcatrazz was a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal metal band mostly remembered as the launching pad for young six-string speed demon Yngwie Malmsteen. The band featured,
Graham Bonnet (Vocals)
Yngwie Malmsteen (Lead Guitar)
Gary Shea (Bass)
Jan Uvena (Drums)
Jimmy Waldo (Keyboards)
Their debut record, No Parole From Rock 'N' Roll, was the bands most successful release and gave way for Yngwie Malmsteen to begin his solo career in 1984. His replacement, fellow virtuoso sex-stringer Steve Vai, went on to join David Lee Roth to much success as well
jdddone1: yngwie at this time was and still is the greatest guitarist. His tone and vibrato are perfect, and his technique is flawless, razor-sharp and incredibly precise. Every note is crisp and clean.
ChrisSRApplePie: Well for me, Yngwie has to be one of the most, if not THE most technically accomplished guitarist to come out of the 80's. When he came onto the scene with Steeler in 1980 at the age of 18, there was no one around with that level of speed/fluidity/precision or anyone outside the "Van Halen" box. He definitely wrote the book for shred and for the legion of copy-cats and imitators to follow. Thanks for the comment!
