Handful of terrorists cant stop routine life: Taseer

* Educational institutions closed for security review

LAHORE: Nations face difficult times but a handful of terrorists cannot affect the publics routine life, Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer said on Thursday.

The governor was talking to reporters during his visit to a local ice cream shop on Beadon Road. He said Pakistanis were living a normal life and were not afraid of terrorists. He said the nation would never bow to the pressure of the terrorists.

The governor was accompanied by Punjab Revenue Minister Haji Ishaq, Population Welfare Minister Neelum Jabbar and Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and Development Shahzad Cheema.

I often visit the city to have my meals. We will continue to live a normal life, he added.

Security review: Answering a question, Taseer said the government had closed down educational institutions to review the security arrangements, as the terrorists were attacking even the women and children, which was not a humane behaviour but brutality. We will soon reopen the educational institutions, Inshallah, he said.

Jabbar said the fight against terrorism would continue until the last terrorist was eliminated. The democratic government, the president and the prime minister had the credit of effectively tackling the situation created due to the dictatorial policies that continued for eight years.
