A door slamming suddenly awaked me. Whoa what happened last night? I am such a daze. I looked around I was still on the couch. Kevin and Nick got up and walked into the living room
Nick: Oh I see Kay left.
Me: What are you talking about?
Kevin: Joe you dont remember you and Kay all snuggled up together on this very couch?
Me: What?
Nick: Joe come on! How could you not I mean you guys looked pretty cozy.
Me: Well dont get any ideas were just friends.
Kevin: Super really good friends.
Me: Shut Up!
Nick: Anyway today we have no concerts and Me Kevin and Sidney plus Daisy are going to go out for dinner tonight so its just you and Kay.
Me: Why cant we go with you guys?
Kevin: Unless youre going to triple with us?
Me: Fine Ill just go out by myself then.
Nick: But I though you wanted to be alone with Kay?
Me: Not funny Nicholas!
~That Night~
Nick: Alright Joe were leaving now.
Me: Uh huh see ya!
Kevin: You and Kelly have fun!
Me: What did you say?
Nick: He said Kay!
Me: No I swear you just said Kelly.
Kevin: Sorry I got confused Joe. Just calm down.
Me: Sorry its just shes still a gentle subject.
Nick: Okay bye.
I sat down on the couch and just was on my computer. Like a few minutes later I heard a huge thunderstorm outside. I looked out and lightning was lighting up the sky. Then there was a knock at the door. I went to see who it was. I saw Kay standing there soaked.
Me: Are you okay?
Kay: I am kind of scared alone over there so I thought I could hang over here?
Me: Uh sure I wanted to talk to you anyway.
Kay: Okay.
Me: Oh come in sit down.
We sat down on the same couch that we slept on and you could tell things were weird between us.
Me: Im really sorry about last night that was not the plan at all.
Kay: Oh its fine Joe no hard feelings its not like you abducted me or anything.
Me: Yeah.
Kay: So Im sorry about the drool on your shirt.
Me: Oh thats fine.
After that she kind of just sat there awkwardly and I did the same. The silence was deafening it was like the thunder stopped just to make it worse. Then all of a sudden BOOM! There was a huge booming thunder and Kay practically jumped on top of me. She was crying her eyes out. She had a serious fear of thunder. I didnt push her off and she didnt get off so I just put my arms around her waist. Thats when she pulled away from me weirdly enough.
Kay: Sorry about that but my mom died on a day like this and well I dont want to say anymore.
Me: You dont have to I know how it feels someone you care about.
Kay: Who would that be?
Me: Kelly.
Kay: You didnt lose her Joe shes still with you in spirit.
Me: Yeah.
Kay: Tell me one thing though. Why is it that you dated Camilla?
Me: To one get over Kelly and move on.
Kay: You must have really loved her.
Me: More than you could have ever known she was probably the best girl out there.
Kay: Oh.
Me: But I cant keep my self locked up. Youre the only person Ive told that outside of Sidney, Daisy, Kevin and Nick.
Kay: Well thank you for opening up to me.
Me: Can I say something a little weird?
Kay: Sure.
Me: Well you remind me so much of Kelly. I dont know how but I just feel like I can be me around you and that I could tell you everything.
I dont know why but Kay suddenly burst into tears. I didnt know what to do or say. I just kind of sat there. She got up and ran outside. I got up and ran after her. I looked around but she was gone. I walked back inside the bus and sat down on the couch. Wondering what I had said or done that set her off.
