City of Reno NV From the Podium Hot August NIghts Coat Drive 2009 Video

Reno's Hot August Nights organizers and volunteers teamed up with Burger King and the City of Reno to announce its annual coat drive. The news event took place at the Good Shepherd Clothes Closet located on the Community Assistance Center campus. The City built the center in cooperation with non-profit agencies to create a place where homeless and other needy residents can access services, including food, shelter and clothing in one location. Residents who donated coats got a free meal from Burger King. The Mayor and Council kicked off the event by donating more than 100 coats. The drive garnered more than 2,000 coats to help keep homeless residents warm this winter.
