artyfarty2: PS all you have done here is create a bunch of non-sequiturs. Take a step back and look at what you are doing. You are trying to do the impossible. I get that you believe that the OT no longer applies, and I can tell you that is a releif, but unfortunately you are theologically incorrect. Perhaps you imagine atheists to be ignorant of the Bible. I was raised in Christians faith schools.

If you believe in Jesus Christ and his commandements, then you are pleasing to the One who sent him - which is a fulfilment of the law. But the written laws of the israelites no longer apply. When a person chooses to do wrong nowadays, it is fully between that person and God. You can read all scriptures I have posted as well as Ephesians 2:7-9.

I'll engage Christians who believe that God created the Big Bang, but those who honestly believe the earth is 6,000 years old are most likely psychologically incapable of living in a godless universe.

I sort of get why you think the Jesus character is a good moral teacher, though if you really considered what he said closey you would see that he is not really all that great. I'm an ex-Christian, but I still try to live to the morals presented in the new testament of the bible, because even if god isn't real, they're ridiculously airtight. (We're not talking about the old testament here, just the new. A different set of laws was needed for a different time.

99Sorc: Man , I cant help but feel sadness as I watch this video... Its scary to think that people still believe in the lies of religion. God is not a person with special powers who created us to worship and serve him. God is CREATION itself. It is the force that drives everything in existence - from cosmic occurrences to personal thoughts. The reason people believe the lies is because they mistake the bible for being LITERAL - when in fact it is SYMBOLIC.
99Sorc: Symbolic of Cosmic occurrences - the bible and its teachings are the teachings of the cosmos, made into a story that human beings could actually understand. Because if the truth were told in its raw form - we would not be able to understand the ideas and concepts of truth. The whole world misinterprets the bible - and people die everyday because of it.
