Heart Like Memphis Chapter 2 Video

How was your day?

Mine was good :]

I think the best part was in french.
Which I told you before, I fail at, ahaha.

So.. here's how the story goes :]

We were sitting there listening to our teacher talk in fluent french, so I decided to get out a peice of paper and scribble.

I ended up drawing, Shoot me now, in big letters on a peice of paper.

So, I caught one of my friend's attention and held it up, but, of couse, just as I do that the teacher tells everyone to turn around and look at something in the back, so everyone sees me making a face and holding up the sign.

Everyone started laughing, excpet for my teacher, and the only reason I didn't get a detention was because I translated Shoot me now into French.

It was such a Fail/Win.

Selena's P.O.V.

If I have to listen to one more song titled anything like Best of Both Worlds or Party In The USA, I will kill myself. But, of course, Taylor is out on the dance floor, dancing to the music. Singing along with the crowd. She fit in so perfectly, and I was on the outside, drinking punch. What did I excpect? That I would actually be something.

Funny.

"Hello," someone says from behind me. I look up at him, Nick. "Yes?" I ask. Nick sits down next to me. I want to tell him not to sit by me. I want to stand up, and walk away. He reminds me of... Nevermind.

Moments pass, and we say nothing, just sit by eachother. It's extremely awkward and shaky. I feel like I should be nice to this guy, but I don't want to. The way he makes my stomache drop and my heart float around my chest is nothing what I want. So, I sit there like a fool, and slowly drink my punch.

Finally, he breaks the silence. "Why aren't you intrested in me?" Nick asks. His lips jerk, and I can tell he wishes to revise his words. "So now everyone has to be intrested in you?" I sigh. "No, it's just- everyone does. Everyone's all over me."

I roll my eyes, "I'm so sorry that you're popular, and that everyone loves you." He's just like Taylor. If they only knew what they had. But I only sigh, and hold back the words I only wish I could let loose.

Joe's P.O.V.

He's nervous.

I watch as Nick tries to talk to that Selena girl. His eyes darting around the floor, his palms are sweaty. I can't believe that this is happening to Nick.

Sighing, I decided to listen in on their conversation. "B-BBut I didn't mean that..." Nick sighs. He's hopeless.

Selena yawns and stretchs her arms over her head. "Yeah, I know, just felt like giving you a hard time, Bushy," she giggles. He laughs with her, but more strained. Like he isn't sure, about any of it.

For a second, I doubt the guy next to her is my brother.

"Bushy?" Nick asks. "It's a nickname. I know you're a popstar and all, but I thought you would have at least caught onto that insult," she smirks. "Aren't you afraid you're going to really hurt someone when you say those things?" Nick asks her, rolling his eyes.

Aww, Nick, this is where you fail. You should have just agreed and told her she was pretty. Not anger her more, or give her ANOTHER reason to slap you in the face.

Nick's shoulders slump. He sighs and starts to tap his finger against the edge of his cup. Maybe he was calming down. At least he wasn't that much of a mess anymore. Before, I thought he was about to run off from Selena. Lord only knows why she's the only person he's afraid of.

Nick's P.O.V.

"Do you often get in trouble for saying the wrong things?" I ask Selena.

She smiles at me, "Only to the right people."

Her eyes twinkles against the dark light, and she turns away. Why do I feel this way around her? Why do I have no idea how to talk to her?

Have I always been the one chased, not the chaser?

"Doesn't it hurt the people around you?" I ask her.

She freezes next to me. Her hand tapping against the side of her thighs. Her eyes glued to the dance floor. I hit a chord.

She tilts her head and looks straight at me. I notice the way she blinks, and her sweet brown eyes. Her hair falls in her eyes, her light smile. And I can't breathe.

"It always does."

I don't take this as a warning. I don't that that this is somethign she's trying to tell me. To me, she's not saying, 'Run, Nick, run. Before I break your heart.' She's inviting me to stay, to fall for her more. I take it as something warm, not heartbreaking.

And the only thing I think is that;

Her eyes are like New York City lights.
