Emily Cavalier Reviews "Good Hair" Video
Do you want to know why black women freak out about getting their hair wet, or you walking up and putting your hands in it, or constantly asking you why her hair is such a process?
This video covers a few thoughts I had on Chris Rock's documentary "Good Hair," which just came out. A blog post on the movie is forthcoming on http://EmilyCavalier.com.
Here's my hair story in video form.
I relax my hair at home and get it cut and styled by Leona at Joseph Tyler Salon in Brooklyn.
Each week I go to a Dominican salon to have it "wash and set," a 2-hour process of sitting under a huge hair dryer under low heat with my hair in rollers.
Background: I'm half black and half Italian. I use Optimum Care relaxers and shampoos and conditioners by Keri Care, Creme of Nature, Sebastien, Joico K-Pak and Morroccan Oil.
Everything I've written about my hair can be found here: http://emilycavalier.com/tag/hair/
gimletta: this is not a review. I don't know what this is.
