baronmorris: without change there is no time. before the big bang, if there was stasis, there was no time, ergo there was no "before the big bang." if there was anything before the big bang, even brownian motion, then the big bang, per se, was not the beginning of our universe. I think what happened before the big bang = the big crunch, & before that, another big bang, etc, that from a broader perspective , time is cyclical (despite the appearance of linearity). Broader still, & all time is simultaneous. ;-)
carusggg: the response that make both the atheists and the theists to have soemthing in common. But there was a big bang ? Perhaps time don't even exists at all and is just a physical function used as a metaphor for describing things and however Big Bang is a creationism disguised in a scientific theory because the 3D can't appear from nothing (if there isn't any God who makes 3D things appear) and yes there was something that exploded before BB and this was the thing that "exploded" and perhaps was 3D.
baronmorris: before the big bang may well have been an "uncaused cause" which is something that we're temporally conditioned to not comprehend, but it's not necessarily God-like. We can't comprehend dimensions developing out of dimensionlessness, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Creationism goes into fairy tale land bc it attributes characteristics to a being that cannot be percieved. Comforting to some, a catalyst for mass murder to others, & utterly ficticious to those of us with skeptical minds. ;-)
carusggg: If you can't imagine dimensions (you can't make a picture of 4D dimension) then there are simply illogical to talk about it because it is illogical. Dimensions who go from nothing is nothing but disguised creationism. However let us be sure of that self-creationism is right ( appear from nothing without any God our reality) but what is the stuff that encapsulated space-time and in which medium space-time was borned ? Is this also an metaphysical problem ? At a time i will resolve this pr also.
baronmorris: "God" is such a convenient puzzle piece. It fills in whatever gaps exist in our understanding. Bit of a cop out tho. ;-) peace
carusggg: no peace but war , I hate self imposed peace. If God fit so good in anything then perhaps religion fit even in science. As far as i am concerned if something is irrational it doesn't have to do with science but with religion and therefore is no place for Big Bang in science because it have to do jsut with faith giving that we don't know if it is or not possible and is irrational (we can't make a movie from self creation) and this is no greater than the concept or object of God and creationism..
