Demi's POV

"Of course," he tells me. I follow the doctor down the hall with Marie in my arms. I go into the room and see Joe lying there in the bed. He's pale and not moving at all. The heartbeat monitor is blank. Tears rush out of my eyes as I pull a chair to the side of the bed. I lay Marie on the bed carefully next to Joe's waist. I place my head on Joe's chest. I can almost hear his heartbeat from all the other times my head has rested upon his chest. The sheets soon get soaked with my tears.
"I remember the day we met," I say aloud. "On the set of Camp Rock. Then your dog died. You cried half the night. I remember when we told each other we liked each other. It was on a plane to Europe at about 4 in the morning. Then I became your girlfriend. Then you told me you loved me. I remember when you proposed to me. Then our wedding day," I sighed. "Our honeymoon. Then when we found out I was pregnant with Marie. Remember the day she was born? Just 3 months ago. It was probably one of the happiest days of my life. I don't know about you, but it was one of many for me. Now that you're gone, Joe," I sniffled. "I won't forget you, ever. And I won't love anyone else. I'll love you. I always have and I always will. Nothing and no one will change that. I just can't believe you're gone. And all because of someone else's stupid decisions. I'll miss you, Joe. I'll miss your smile and your laugh. I'll miss waking up to you every morning. I'll miss your voice and your presence. I love you," I stand up and pick up Marie. "Bye, Joe," I take Marie's hand and have her wave to Joe. "Say goodbye to Daddy," Marie whimpers a bit. I lean down and kiss Joe's forehead then stand back up.

I shoot up in the air. My breath is quick and heavy and I'm sweating along with tears running down my cheeks. I look around. I'm in the dark hotel room sitting up in bed. Oh my god. A dream? It all seemed so real.
"Dem?" Joe asks. He sits up. "Demi, what's wrong?" he wipes my tear stained cheeks. He's alive. I wrap my arms around his waist and cry into his chest. He rubs my back. "What happened?" he asks, confused. I calm down and my breathing slows. Joe wipes sweaty strands of hair away from my face and his hands brush my forehead. "Demi! You're burning," Joe grabs the hem of his shirt that I'm wearing and he pulls it up off me, leaving me in my bra. "What's going on?"
"Well," I sniffle. "I had this dream. It started out as a dream. We were older and we were married and had a daughter then you went to work and you got in a car accident. A drunk guy hit you and you died. Joe, it was horrible!" I sob into his chest.
"Shhh," he rubs my bare back and kisses my head. "I'm right here, it's okay," He calms me down again then we lay down on the bed.
"Earlier, I was watching the news and a drunk driver killed this boy in a car accident. What if that actually happened to you, Joe?" I ask him quietly. "You'd be gone forever and I'd be stuck here without you," I say to him.
"Well, what if that happened to you?" he asks me. "Then I'd be here without you," he kisses my forehead. "However, I'm here and you're here now and I love you and nothing and no one will change that," Joe says.
"That's what I told you in my dream," I look up at Joe.
"It's the truth," he smiles.
"I love you too," I tell him. Joe hums to me until I fall asleep 15 minutes later.

Joe's POV

I wake up around 9:30. Demi's asleep, clinging to my chest. I don't blame her, though. She was a wreck when she woke up last night. I fell asleep thinking about what she told me and what I'd said. What would happen if Demi's life was taken and never given back? I wouldn't see her again till I died. I wouldn't hear her soft voice or feel her silky skin against mine like it is right now. I pushed the thought from my head.
I watched Demi sleep for about 20 minutes, then she woke up.
"Good morning, gorgeous," I kiss her head.
"Hey," Demi looks up at me. "What time do we have to leave for the venue?"
"Um, around 1 because there might be some traffic. After the concert, we're going to spend another night here and leave early in the morning," I explain.
"Oh, okay," Demi sits up and runs her hands through her hair. I run my hand across her lower back and I hear her sigh. "I'm tired," I chuckle.
"Me too," I agree. "Lets go get some food," I climb out of bed and pull on a t-shirt. I toss Demi my clean black t-shirt with the letters BRP on it standing for Big Rob Productions, of course, and she pulls it on. She slides out of bed and goes into the bathroom. I watch her smooth down her hair.
"There are gonna be fans outside, aren't there?" she asks as she slips on flip flops. I slide on my low top converse as I nod slowly. "Great," Demi mutters.
"You look fine. Now come on, but keep your distance," I remind her.

Okay, phew, just a dream. Chp. 70! Comment please!
