Part 163 of L&L 1981 playlist
Laura walks in to Duvall dead in her apartment. She is having serious flash backs to the David Hamilton incident. Alex is bloody and freaking out. Tony Cassedine is frantically searching for Alex. Robert realizes the Duvall thing is a set up, they are trying to have frame Laura for the murder. (I watch this, and the upcoming clips, in awe of Genie Francis and in total and complete shock that she was never recognized for her work. Here she was so young and SOOOOO talented.)

Matuatay2: Poor Laura. You know, after 20 or so years of stuff like this, I can understand why she finally had a full breakdown! I think I would have found myself committed after the David Hamilton case!!

Matuatay2: And here was the beginning of Tony becoming more of a lap dog than an independent and threatening villian. EXCELLENT clip, Sus!!!!! You're right, Genie was once again awesome. You have to admit, some of her best work is when Laura is in trauma. 5 stars and 2 thumbs WAY up!! :)

sussezq: Yes she does trauma, tragic, pain, heartache... like nobody else... and it makes me worry for Genie Francis... where the heck do you pull that from unless you can honestly feel that deeply....it's so intense.

Matuatay2: Oh Genie's deep, from what I've gathered in interviews and biographies. I don't think she comes from an abusive background, but she, like all of us, has had her battles to fight, both external and internal, and she knows how to channel that energy into her acting. TG is the exact same way.

sussezq: OH I wasn't suggesting anything of the sort... but geez life has got to be a little more complicated if you feel that deeply. I agree about both GF and TG being amazing actors and using it all to their advantage when playing a character.

Matuatay2: Oh sorry, didn't mean to make you think you had implied anything in your comment. It was me thinking out loud. LOL Well, you gotta think...you're 17 years old, go for a part, hit almost instant stardom, it's taxing...from what I understand. I'm sure Genie was going through many personal struggles during this timeframe. She's even said that dealing with being so high profile at so young an age really took a toll on her.

sussezq: I couldn't even imagine how stressful and lonely that must have been.... a couple emmy's to tell her she was on the right track may have compensated some. TG said the good part of that time was being recognized for the work, the hard part being recognized everywhere and having no private life... poor Ms. Francis only got the crappy part!!!
