johnissoevil: I think this aired the week before the dark period. I remember watching this week, and that Saturday, GSN was airing the 1982 season in the afternoon and the 1979 season.

9409312: At the start of the 1981-1982 season of The Joker's Wild when they introduce the Blue Neon board

9409312: Well at the Red Set remain the same but in 1978 the show added new contestants and host podiums the two contestant podiums have new updated scoreboards and added flashing chase lights and the red lights on the Joker's Wild Board started to flash as well.
