500 new houses for the estate sector Video

Minister Arumugam Thondaman said India will be giving 75 million rupees to build the houses. The Indian Government has also given 20 buses on behalf of improving transport facilities of the Estate Sector. Joining in the opening of the Cultural Centre built at the Wanaraja Estate in Dickoya, the Minister said India has also expressed willingness to provide another 100 buses in the future. The expenditure incurred on the Cultural Centre is 15 million rupees. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister had agreed to provide Maths and Science teachers to improve the educational standard of the Estate Schools. These new projects are in place following the visit of the 10-member Indian Parliamentary delegation to Sri Lanka and Minister Thondamans visit to Tamil Nadu. Deputy Ministers Muthusivalingam and S. Jegatheeswaran were present.
