JohnnyGillette: I like your videos. Question about the song, who did this version? I am very confused by the reference to Pakenham. At 1:03 the singer say's Pakenham wanted the men to hold fire until the "white's of their eyes" are seen...but shouldn't that be Jackson? An odd version, am I misunderstanding the context or is this a Brit revisionist version of the song. Anyway, well done and keep up the good work.
JohnnyGillette: Ok well I found the answer to my own question. This is a Brit version. Only a Brit would say Patton in the begining and then Packenham. You should use Johnny Hortons U.S. released version, this version sucks. No flame intended to you personally, I really appreciate your videos and historical context. Keep it up.

TheCobaltAgent: He incited war by sending American troops into American territory? The whole point of being "disputed" is that both sides claimed it. It was ours legally and we were justified in securing our border. That's like saying we instigated the War of 1812 for going after British forts on our land. Lincoln paid the price for his criticism. It came back to haunt him and bit him in the ass when he was fighting the Civil War and his opponents called him a hypocrite. The war was opposed on slave issues.
