PBR Battle #15 - VS. Marshal Video

I haven't used Austin again since I began uploading, so I figured I'd squeeze a match in using his team too. If you could tell during the select screen, I wanted to use Castform, but since I knew I wouldn't be using Sunny Day (I knew Rayquaza would show up), I decided to save him for a later match.

Anyway, this was a great match. It shows how well this team works together. Sunflora and Castform work just as well, but they usually fare better with Sunny Day support. The four I chose work just as well with or without the sun. I'm pretty sure most people I face with this team see Castform and automatically think a weather condition will be set up first just like with the Sandstorm team, my opponents set up to face Hippopotas first. The thing is, I set up this team, as well as my Sandstorm team, to do well enough without the weather condition because there are so many Pokemon out there today that can negate their effects. Rayquaza is a perfect example as to why it's difficult to pull out a weather move, and of course it was used here.

I've only faced one other Regi team in the past, and that was way back when I first started playing PBR. Personally, I like the Regi quartet, but I don't see them too often...especially not Regigigas. I guess Regigigas' ability is a huge turn off to using it. If it had Clear Body like the other 3, it would probably be considered an uber since its amazing stats could never be lowered.

Luckily, it has Slow Start, and I can lower its stats as much as I want. That's why I used Charm. I like picking on Regigigas a little by weakening its Attack or its Speed even more before it can put its act together, and those two stats are doubled. If it's switched out because of the stat lowering, it would just restart the Slow Start countdown. It looks like an all-around lose for the giant, but this Regigigas had some special back-up that could pose a problem.

I chose - Rapidash, Aerodactyl, Lopunny, and Shaymin

Marshal chose - Regigigas, Rayquaza, Slowking, and Registeel

muffin1man1: reading your descrip, dont u think lowering rayquaza'a attack would have been better? u could have saved rapidash and use it to easily take out registeel. anywho great match! i like PBR cuz u can pull off strategies more easily than DS wifi and u get a chance to use pokes u normally wouldnt. i still have problems taking out the ubers with just any old team tho lol

dembonez19: I brought along 3 Pokemon who could take on Registeel (and the other Regis). Rapidash obviously wasn't needed as much. Since I didn't have any Fighting-type attacks, I knew I'd have to save Regigigas for later. That's why I lowered its attack early on. I was banking on it pulling it together at some point. Of course it never did.

rprusty86: Great battle. I like regigas. I wa tinkin of making a special one but alas no go. I like that you use charming rapidash, thats cool!

eternity921: i understand y regigas is NU but Y are the regis UU ?????? they are tha best tanks EVER !!!!!! registeel is amazing i might train one

dembonez19: I don't see Charm on...anything, but I figured Rapidash would be a great contender for it because it's so fast! I don't use it a lot, but it helps when I can squeeze the move in. =3

bezerk47: i wish u could use lv 100 pokemon so i can use my ho-oh and entei, sucuine, and raicou but i can use my shiny mew,groundon,mewtwo,and lugia

dembonez19: You could use Ho-oh, Entei, Suicune, and Raikou anyway. The game adjusts all of the Pokemon to be at level 50 on Random Wi-Fi, and the stats adjust accordingly.
