Barry Kiener piano, Buddy Rich band Video
brian740: In collecting videos, and audio tapes, I've run across a lot of players that probably normally I wouldn't seek out. Barry Keiner was a genius on the piano. His solos are so beautifully constructed and melodic. He, along with ex-MF pianist Pete Jackson, are a couple of very underrated and probably unknown players. Yet both were at the tops of their games. Enjoy.
CornishMiner: A great pianist, who allegedly had an incredible memory!
beedoe51: The real thing! What a sad loss to the world. I can only imagine the jam session that is eternal in heaven between all of the greats that have passed this way! Great post!!!
acedrumminman: Barry was my roomate on the road in 77' 78' the killer force band, he was my brother...yes, he could remember the room number of every hotel he ever stayed in at any hotel in the world, and was an authority on Persian rugs and an absolute genius of the piano...
DavePlaysTrombone: Stunning. It's amazing to know he was gone by his mid-20's. Judging by the look of the band, I'd say this was shortly before he passed.
timeoutfourtwo: Genius
tonilrogers: I saw Barry in Dayton , Ohio in October of 1985 and April of 1986 at Fifth Avenue Resturant and Gilly's night club, I think he passed in May of 1986, what a great player to see as a teenager!
