Anh Cao, Only GOP To Vote For Health Reform, Talks To CNN Video
The morning after the House passed the health care reform bill 220-215, CNN interviews one of the Congressmen who voted for the bill, Anh "Joseph" Cao from Louisiana - the only Republican to vote "yes" for the bill. Cao claims it was "a decision of conscience... to support the health care reform bill... it was the right decision for the people of my district."
sandio713: Henry, give me your e-mail address on my personal acct comments and I will talk with you off line.
Zoklor: @henrywalsh - If you think this bill is fair and good like you say, you have not read it. This bill will do nothing to lower the cost of healthcare, it does not even go into effect til 2013, yet the fines and taxes will start sooner then that. So tell me what beneift is there going to be for people who are paying for it, but cant get anything from it. This bill is a fundraiser for the democrats, that is all. You should be ashamed to be an American.
henrywalsh: I am more ashamed that you are an American Zoklor. I have read the bill, I stated above that it won't help me. The fact is that the funds raised will help to mitigate the costs of the bill, if you can't understand that a surplus has to be built up you don't understand economics. It will lower the cost of Health Care, under the regulations if you note them. It won't lower health care costs for the person who already HAS health care, but it will for those who don't, considerably.
henrywalsh: Done.
GareTuup2: That was in 1920.... Many things changed, like the free market. I don't believe in a perfect system, but you're simply saying that the current system will fail. You could be right, you could be wrong. Point is, you can't know what's coming. Things need to be changed, that's obvious, but how, that's the correct question to ask yourself. I don't have an answer for that. We'll see what the future brings us.
critics11: "Good Going Cao,What Is John McCain Opinion About You"
KarmicOmen: Bribery, coercion, bartering a vote ... Obama impeachment? We couldn't get that lucky, that begging self centered son of a bitch!
EchelonMonitor: "Played, Betrayed, Health Care Delayed: House Passes Bailout For Private Insurance Companies." BlackAgendaReport . com "Now we know what the Obama administration means by health care reform. They mean guranteeing the rights of insurance and drug companies to their profits. They mean making health insurance like car insurance, with everyone compelled by law to purchase it from a private vendor, except for the very poorest among us, who will be offered a public option ..."
BroadCastTuber: Only one Republican had the balls to vote for health care reform?!?! wow.
trungduongxx: Hi sandio713, I am a Canadian and as I know that this health care system is not yet perfect, but it s a peace in mind who are sicks without money. There are still cases that ppl go to US for health treatment . They are maybe either rich or covered under private insurance or seek treament which is not avalailble in Canada but certainly they are not poor pple ..
TylerNull: Political donations to candidates & parties, according to FEC data (opensecrets . org), from LOBBYISTS: Democrat: 69% Republican: 31% Democrats & Big Biz -- Life Partners
mark1m: those are some very good stats Tyler. You should make up some more. I dont even need to see a link. Because last i checked independent candidates exist and your numbers for republicans and democrats = 100%. so either independent candidates dont get lobbyist money.. or they dont exist... or of course the 3rd option which is that you are a complete moron.
TylerNull: Hint to the vicinity of a clue: opensecrets . org The fun of sticking reality right up against the snout of a Democrat is in having them chronicle the manner in which they reject it.
mark1m: did i make an error in my assessment? Please put a direct link to the specific page you cite your statistics from... even though using basic logic i apparently derailed the entire website, if what you posted is true.
TylerNull: Dismissing the cold hard facts, and bitterly cling to Democrat mythology, as you do, isn't about "logic".
Gooodwitch: wtf poor grammar..and his constituents are poor alrdy so he is going to kill them financially
haveu4gotten: Nancy gave him 1.27 billion reasons to vote yes. So now we spend big bucks to off members.
Cordero787: Bless his heart....I'm a nurse in Puerto Rico and We'd never allow our people to suffer the way they do over in America via HMO exploitation. How can the Republicans be so callous and evil? Every other industrialized country has universal care and so should the U.S......You guys are only the most powerful because you exploit and abuse your own the most and it's enough already. Obama is a great man and President. Americans have grown too used to being treated like shit from the right wing.
MelchezidikGabreil: Google Jeff Fisher President Obama 9-11 Google Image Jeff Fisher President Obama 9-11 My email JeffFisherVsGeorgeBush2 gmail
BroadCastTuber: Yeah, I respect Joseph Cao for going against the Republicans and voting for the sake of his district majority of which are Democrats. He had their interests at heart.
CommanderUTube: Joseph Cao is likely a Christian and he puts his conscience before all else. He is a modern day Thomas Moore. Brave of him, bearing in mind what happened to Thomas Moore's political future. A leap of Faith. He is not wrong here because if his district is poor, the district will be a net benefactor of funds. The richer districts will have to carry the poorer districts as in the UK National Health scheme
Desertphile: Golly, a Republican party member who cares about America and the citizens of America.... who could have guessed that was even possible?!
USAneedsaChange: he seems like a very good person, nice to hear
bishopm5: Start packing your bags dope 2010 your finished
SHAMSHAM1090: its weird a higher % of democrats voted no than republicans that voted yes of course there was just 1 republican
