I kept looking into her eyes and waited for her to tell me what her name is. She took a step away from me and I could tell she was starting to become worried, which doesnt happen very often to members of the council. I could tell she was studying me. "The girl that your going to fall in love with...? Whats that supposed to mean?" She said to me after she recovered her serious face. "It means exactly what it sounds like." I heard Joe laugh from across the room but I didnt look away from the strange girl standing infront of me. "This is great. Everyone is finding their soulmate except me. Thats just wonderful." He shook his head and walked outa the room leaving me and the girl alone. "Soulmates dont exsist. Their just a myth." The girl said while looking away from me. I never used to believe in soulmates.... that is, until I saw her. I reached out and gently touched her hand. I saw her get ready to defend herself and she glared at me until she realized I wasnt going to hurt her. She relaxed a little and I took her hand in mine. "You dont believe in soulmates?" I asked her and watched as she looked down at my hand that was holding her. "The council says soulmates don't exsist. We must marry the vampire that is best for us so that we will become a powerful couple." "What if you dont love the person your told to marry?" I asked her and she pulled her hand away from mine, held her hand up and pointed to a silver ring around one of her fingers. "Then you marry them anyways." She said this, then dropped her hand and looked out the window. Of coarse... Shes from the council and shes the same age as I am. The council would have already found her a husband. "...Your married to someone you dont love...?" "Not married. Engaged." She replied and looked up at me. "Your lucky... You get to marry for love..." I looked into her eyes and could tell that she didnt want to marry whoever she was engaged to. "I cant marry the person I love." She looked at me, confused. "Because she is already engaged."
I finished my sentence and found myself pulling her into my arms and kissing her passionatly. I knew that she was going to kill me now and I waited for her to attack me. But she didnt. She was frozen for a second, then I could feel her lips moving against mind. I felt her move her hands to my chest and she kissed me back. At that moment, I knew we were soulmates. I would find a way for us to be together forever and I would protect her from anyone who ever tried to hurt her. I was already beginning to imagine our future together and then I realized something.... I still dont know her name.....
