Chapter 118: Demi Date (1/3) Video

Joe's P.O.V.

I can do this, I can do this, I can do this. Just ask her if she was to go to lunch tomorrow. It's easy.

I took a deep breath and walked over to Demi, Selena, and Nicki. I tapped Demi's shoulder. She turned, and her beautiful smile was on her face. I had to remind myself to continue breathing. She was so amazing.

"Can I talk to you?" I asked her.

"Sure," she said. She waved off the other two, and Nicki smiled at me.

We walked a little ways away from the stage, in a comfortable silence. We wondered to the back of the venue and sat down on a row of seats. My heartbeat was fast, and I had butterflies in my stomach.

"So, what's up?" Demi asked me. I turned to face her, and she did so too.

"I was wondering if, um..." I said. Come on Joe, you stupid idiot. Ask her! "I was wondering if maybe you'd want to go to lunch with me tomorrow?"

"You mean like a date?" she asked me. Oh no, she doesn't want to go out with me.

"Well, it doesn't have to be if you don't want it to...but yeah, a date," I said.

"Sure," she smiled. "A date."

I smiled hugely.

I looked at myself in the mirror of the tour bus bathroom. I kept smoothing out my shirt and playing with my hair. I have never in my life been this nervous for a date before. I glanced at myself once more, then exited out into the kitchen part.

Nicki was making lunch for Kev and Nick. They were sitting on the couch doing interviews. They had taken mine for me. They knew how much I liked Demi. Nicole turned to look at me, and smiled.

"Adam was right, red is a good color on you," she said. She bounced onto her tippy toes and kissed my cheek. I smiled down at her.

We had called Adam last night, Nicki and I, to get help with what I should wear. We ended up doing a video chat so that he could see. He picked out a pair of dark skinny jeans and one of my red t-shirts that say Forever and ever and ever, etc, in black letters getting smaller each row.

"He's a genius. Remind me to hug him in New York," I told her. She giggled and started pushing me toward the door.

"Go, you're going to be late," she said.

I walked over to Demi's bus, my stomach breeding butterflies. I knocked on the door and it took a minute for someone to answer, but it was worth the wait.

"We match," Demi said, smiling.

She had on some black skinny jeans and a red shirt with black writing. I smiled and gave her a hug.

"Great minds think alike," I said. She giggled. "Come on, let's go."

We arrived at the restaurant, and were escorted to a private backroom. There was a table for two set up. Big Rob stayed at the door while we ate. I had brought her to a nice Italian restaurant for lunch.

We talked the whole time. She was even more amazing then I thought. We talked about everything from our childhood to our favorite candy. We reminisced about our Camp Rock memories.

"That was so much fun. The look on your face was priceless," she said.

I smiled. When I looked back up at her, we were a lot closer than I had realized. We kept leaning in, very slowly. She was lookking straight into my eyes, as was I to her. We were close enough that I could feel her breath on my lips. I closed the distance...and touched my lips to hers lightly.

It only lasted maybe two seconds, but that was enough time for sparks to fly. I pulled back to look at her. She was smiling slightly. I took a deep breath, and asked her what I really wanted the answer to.

"Demi?" I asked. She snapped out of her small trance and looked up at me. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
