MESA/Boogie Mark IIB Demo Video
Here's a few tone samples from my 1981 MESA/Boogie Mark IIB combo amplifier. In true Mark series tradition, it's a 1x12 combo loaded with an Electrovoice EVM12L speaker. This particular example had some of the desirable optional extras added at purchase - 60/100W switch, graphic EQ and spring reverb. The tolex is actually a standard option, in the early Eighties Boogie offered a choice of the traditional black or the cream colour of this amplifier (in addition to the famous hardwood cabinets).
The IIC+ is of course the most well known of the Mark series, principally through the endorsement of artists like John Petrucci and Metallica, however the rest of the Mark II amplifiers definitely shouldn't be dismissed in light of their esteemed elder sibling.
Further to that point, hopefully this video demonstrates that the Mark II Boogie is not just a heavy rock amplifier!
GuillermoSmyser: :34 the pick goes flying?! Haha, nice. Love the video!
brookgo: I wish all amp reviews were like this. Thanks for the fantastic post.
