The Way We Get By -- trailer Video

VolunteerMatch is proud to partner with The Way We Get By, the award-winning film that documents the life of three outstanding volunteers.

Joan Gaudet, a mother of eight, World War II veteran Bill Knight, and retired Marine Jerry Mundy are a group of senior citizens who gather daily at a small airport to thank American soldiers departing and returning from Iraq. The film documents the important work they're doing, and is a poignant examination of life, aging, loneliness, war and mortality.

The Way We Get By opens in theaters this July 2009, and will appear on PBS on the program P.O.V. this Veterans Day -- November 11, 2009.
