Health Care Organizing Kickoffs - June 6, 2009 Video
On June 6th, tens of thousands of people came together to organize for health care reform by attending thousands of Health Care Organizing Kickoff events in all fifty states.
SickOfPunditsOnTV: Rethuglibans are "so sure" of their arguments, that they are BUSING THUGS around the Country to go DISRUPT Health Care DEBATES (Town Hall Meetings). How "democratic" of these "freedom" lovers! Repuglibans believe in the kind of Democracy that is VOID of The Freedom to Assemble and Debate Policies like Heath Care. To them; Democracy is the Governing of the People, for the Corporate Mafias by their Rethugliban G"No!"P Puppets.
SocialistDemokrat: I saw the people on the news, angry at Congress for trying to push a new, massive entitlement program right down their throats. For the most part, the protesters appear to be genuinely angry. The vast majority of Americans are happy with their private health insurance do not want the govt involved. And if I was on Medicare, I would be screaming. Have you read any of the bill? It's nuts! Maybe there's some community organizing being done to the ex-community organizer.
ajack50: go READ the bill check out page 29 healthcare will be rationed,pg 30 govt commitee will determine your benefits,pg 50 all non US citizens will be covered,pg 59 govt will have full access to your bank accts for tranfering payments,pg 95 acorn and americorp will signup insured,pg 170 all non citizens will be exempt from individual taxes,pg 203 says that taxes will be fees not taxesthere goes that promise,pg 241 all doctors will be paid the same no matter what field had enough, vote them all out
ObamaOrNoHealthcare: These comments are treasonous- I am reporting you all to FlagatWhitehousedotGov
aztecadog: ajack50- lies,i dont know what your reading but everything youve said is a lie, typical of the anti-reformers,they cant debate the subject because point by point they know they have no chance so they simply shotgun as many lies as possible and delute the debate- if you believe big biz can run something that everyone must have better than gov then i dont know where youve been lately, weve just experienced what happens with deregulation with our financial system & you want to deregulate healthcare?
moonphibes: What we're witnessing is an attempt by Obama to rush this far-left govt takeover of health care past the American public in a desperate bid to outrun his declining popularity. He and his cult followers are trying to impose an unrepealable European-style welfare state in a matter of weeks. The more people find out what's in the bill, the less likely they are to support it. Except for the few remaining liberals hoping to get something for nothing, nobody wants it. The spending has to stop!
livegems: It is kind of amazing some "people" think health costs are like buying a car or any other commercial proposition (eg: all the insurance co-sponsored posts on Youtube by varying "people"). You can plan to buy a car or a house: it's your own responsibility and your money allocation--but you can't plan a medical affliction. Not the same. I simply note one anti-health plan person on Ytube had her two fave videos as a) a revolver shooting into a tank, and b) a clip of Milton F'man on "Greed". True!!

livegems: SocDemk: a fake name too--the K gives you away
aztecadog: what we are witnessing is the reform of a broken system, our 'free market' system is anything but,we dont choose our insurance our employers do,we have to pick from a list of docs, if your docs not on it, tough, insurance tells docs what tests, procedures, medicines they may apply, the docs dont have the final word, weve burdened our employers with skyrocketing costs which eats up at profits that could be used in reinvestment, all this at the highest cost in the world 16% of our GDP-we need reform now
livegems: moonph: you must live on the moon--how much do the ins cos pay you?
SocialistDemokrat: livegems, I didn't think anyone would notice. You're pretty smart.
moonphibes: aztecadog, there are solutions other than "government solutions". You just don't want to hear them. I am very happy with the health insurance I have. Your Government Option will take away my choice of health care. I don't want the government interfering with my health care. If you say the Government Option will not result in me being trapped in your government run health plan then you're either lying or you haven't read your own bill.
aztecadog: moon-what choice?your told what docs to go to, those docs are told what procedures, tests, medicines they can apply- you say there are other solutions, what are they? tort reform & interstate deregulation dont amount to a band aid to our system, the most expensive in the world yet the least efficient & productive of the industrialized nations, we have the most 'free market' system in the world, it has not worked, we need reform, wether its a single payer or heavy regulation-
aztecadog: people who say they are happy with there healthcare are fortunate to not have a serious illness, or in need of a transplant, otherwise you would know that your insurance caps out, & these caps dont come close to covering expenses incurred with serious procedures, you will be liable for tens of thousands of $'s,this is the reason healthcare is the leading cause of bankruptcies, people whove worked hard, been honest, played by the rules end up losing everything & sometimes leaving thier family in debt
moonphibes: The U.S. does spend more on health care. Because the U.S. dominates the biopharmaceutical field, accounting for three quarters of the worlds biotechnology revenues and spending in research and development. The U.S. produces more new pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and affiliated biotechnology than any other country, or the Western European nations combined. The top five U.S. hospitals carry out more clinical trials than all the hospitals in any other country combined.
aztecadog: moonphibes- sorry dude, but that doesnt make sense that our care is the most expensive because we spend the most on research? but as you stated, we also recieve the revenues- beside, how does that explain the fact that americans pay 2-3x's more for the same exact medicines, from the same exact pharmaceuticals?, you are right that medicines are one reason our system is the most expensive in the world, but not for the reasons you state- other nations govs use there leverage to bargin costs-
designtoad: Sounds noble, but... 91% have health insurance. 85% of those are satisfied with their country. So, reform should fix issues, not remake the system (which is 1/6 of the economy), Keep the government out of healthcare. Note: Obama voted against reform when he was in the Senate.
SocialistDemokrat: In order for the far-left to pass their takeover of our health care, they must be banking that everyone is comatose. No rational person who reads the bill would support it.
Commonsenseification: When I see videos like this, it truly brings such a pleasant feelings to my heart, just looking at the pictures and how all kinds of different races, ages, shapes and perhaps back grounds of people are getting together to do good and that to my mind will have far greater positive impact on the American society than any thing else, because people now know, it is possible and it is happening right in front of their own eyes. That is the legacy of President Obama and his team.
SocialistDemokrat: Yesterday, President Obama announced he is withdrawing the Public Option. Government run health care is now a dead issue. Everyone keeps their private health insurance, there will be no death panels and the government will not have access to our bank accounts.
hashmash0: i dont know much about his health plan, but is it the same as we have here in canada? cause all i know is canada has free health care and operations, we pay a bit for medicine at the pharmacy but not alot.
SocialistDemokrat: Obama was forced by Howard Dean and Paul Krugman to put the Public Option back in. Funny how Obama had to back-peddle his way out that embarrassing situation. It's so wonderful having an incompetent President.
ajsanborn: Our president's healthcare reform plan means another step closer to socialism. if you don't know what that means look it up or ask me. I'd be happy to explain it to you.
