Thousands of workers around the country have taken to the streets in a series of marches to protest against proposed Government cuts in pay and services.
Rallies were held in Dublin, Cork, Dundalk, Galway, Limerick, Sligo, Tullamore and Waterford.
The main march in Dublin left Parnell Square and proceeded down O'Connell Street, around College Green and on to Merrion Square for a large rally.

fairhillnorrie: nice to see democracy in action.. we did same in Cork... this Government MUST GO. . How the hell are they still there?? the budget should be postponed and a GENERAL ELECTION CALLED.. They should be kicked out NOW.. or by any means... That's the only reason i voted no to Lisbon, to get that shower out.. UNIONS SHOULD HAVE ACTED BEFORE THE LEVEY... TO Bloody late...
TheEuropeanAgenda: No to New World Order!
RedDragonJack: I was there. was it really 80k ppl? how long did it take them all to pass through o'connell street?
