Damn Small Linux on a Pentium MMX Video
I was bored one day, so i decided to set up an old socket 7 board, to see how well it would perform running damn small linux. Networking works so internet access is posible.
Spec:
Pentium MMX 233Mhz (fastest CPU supported by motherboard)
256MB RAM (max supported by motherboard)
ATI PCI VGA card
PCI Network Card
PCI USB card (for USB mouse)
GA - 586TX2 Motherboard
ashthepokemonmaster: holy shit i need that mother board my old one sucks lol
xtraflo: I'm curious on a couple things. I see that It connected to Google - how does it fair with other general web sites? Most importantly--YouTube? Also, do you think this version of Linux is going to operate better when fully installed on to Hard Drive? I noticed ur using 250m RAM-how would 64mb do? What type of Graphics card is on there? I know, lots of questions-just wanting to know so I can try and make some usage of old PCs for folks needing a cheap solution for Web browsing PC's.Thanks...
ashthepokemonmaster: well DSL will run on a 486 and your specs are fine for dsl =)
ashthepokemonmaster: does that mother board has a turbo function?
