Aranui High School in Christchurch has once again won big at an international theatre festival, picking up multiple awards for their Kiwi inspired Shakespearean production.
The drama students and their teacher, Robert Gilbert, picked up a number of awards at the International Theatre Festival on Norfolk Island, taking Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and turning it on its head.
Gilbert says it's all about making Shakespeare accessible to young people.
Aranui High is a low decile school and doesn't always get the best rap.
"This achievement flys in the face of the stereotype that people have of this community&it just shows how resilient how creative and successful our young people can be," says John Rohs Aranui High School Principal.
