Family Fun Day with the Baytown Police Dept. Video

Family fun with the Baytown Police Department and MG Shoot hosted by ESG Gunworks of Highlands, Texas. The shooting segments were taken at the BPD Training Facility, 100 yd range. The kids could not get enough of ESG's Russian Maxim M1910.

kiwitedferny: What a great day out! Nice to be able to involve the Police and their families. This is just the sort of thing we are trying to organise here - a supervised range day for auto weapons. But it's never going to happen......the wowsers would have a fit.. Nive vid - my son's are very envious of your daughter!

C2builder: My daughter was raised around guns and was taught to respect them but not to be afraid of them. She intimidates most guys because she can field strip a Uzi in 40 seconds.

C2builder: This event was actually hosted by the Police Dept at thier training facility and was kind of a company picnic with firearms. They had tower rappelling, SWAT armored vehicles and BBQ for everyone.

C2builder: Yes, most distributors here carry it and it is pretty cheap, usually around 20 cents a round for military surplus.

waffenss088: Wasnt the Bren improved version of Czech ZB26?

C2builder: Yes, except the Brits wanted to keep the .303 service cartridge, note the curved mag as a result of that. Thanks.

waffenss088: ZB26 was using 7,92X57mm mauser rounds, but i cant understand why need to make a curved mag? Cant the 303. use a original mag? And i had heard that german falschirmjaegers liked british bren.

C2builder: The .303 rimmed cartridge will not feed in a straight mag because the rimmed base will not strip forward from a mag unless one cartridge base is placed ahead of the other, so if you load a cartridge one before the other you will not be able to load very many before you run out of mag well length. Get some .303 rounds and line them up on their side on a table you will see what I mean.

waffenss088: I guess you are right, you know better. But there is problem, i dont have any 303. rounds, because i live in eastern Europe, but isnt the russian 7.62mm round similar to the 303. by it design?

C2builder: Yes they are. Examine the 7.62x54r the same as you would the .303 cartridge.
