-The story starts at school on a Tuesday. Its Joe's homeroom, which has mostly just boys.-
Teacher: Okay students, we have a new student today!
-The kids roll their eyes by how cheesy the teacher is-
Teacher: She should be getting here any...
Boy: SHE?! Were having another hot babe in here?!
Teacher: Alex! Don't yell anything out without raising your hand!
-He raises his hand, the students laugh-
Teacher: Oh, looks like we have our funny man in the classroom. Perhaps he would like to visit the principals office.
-He slides back in his chair-
Alex: No maam.
Teacher: Oh, look here she is!
-Mandy walks into the room, holding her books in one hand, and her other hand is holding her arm.-
Teacher: Hello...what is your name?
Mandy: Mandy...
Teacher: Well Mandy, care to say your FULL name?
Mandy: Mandy Palmer...
Teacher: Well, Mandy Palmer, why don't you take a seat by Mr. Jonas in the back?
-She rolls her eyes and walks down past the desks. She blushes as all the guys follow her like a vulture. She sits down next to Joe and crosses her arms. Joe is smiling like an idiot.-
Joe: Hey, I'm Joseph, Joe for short!
-He puts his hand out in front of her face-
Mandy: Uh...what?
Joe: My...name....is...Joe!
Mandy: Not that...
-She points to his hand-
Joe: Its called a handshake, where did you come from?
Mandy: I...
Teacher: Joseph! Quiet down back there!
Joe: Sorry Patty.
Teacher: Ahem?
-He sighs heavily-
Joe: Sorry Mrs. Harris.
Teacher: Thank you, Joseph. Now students, today we will be in pairs doing our weekly homework grouping. Please find a partner that is close to you and NO FRIENDS should be paired. We dont need any loud talking in this class.
Alex: *Cough* Buzz kill. *Cough*
Teacher: Excuse me?
Alex: I didn't say nothing, go get a new hearing aid, lady.
Teacher: Well, get in your pairs, students.
-People around the room get up and grab partners. Mandy is sitting at her desk when she feels someone grab her arm. She looks and Joe is staring at her.-
Joe: You any good at math?
Mandy: Uh...yeah. I'm in advanced.
Joe: Can you help me with mine?
-Joe shows her the paper that he didn't do any of the problems to.-
Mandy: Alright...I guess.
-She scans the paper. She smiles.-
Mandy: Come on, this is 7th grade math! Now watch.
-Joe pretends to look at the paper that she is writing on but just stares at her.-
Mandy: You put the eight over the seven, the multiply the two and seven, add the eight and you get...
Joe: (Thinking) Look at her eyes...
Mandy: And you get?!
Joe: (Thinking) And that smile...
-Mandy snaps in his face-
Joe: Oh, uh...38?
Mandy: Good! Now do the next problem.
Joe: Why cant you just do the whole page for me?
Mandy: Because its your own work and I don't need to help you.
Joe: Wow, that was harsh. By the way, what classes do you have?
Mandy: Why? Do you want to know other answers later?
Joe: No, I want to know if we have any other classes together.
Mandy: Oh, alright...
-She pulls her schedule out of her pocket-
Joe: We have P.E. together!
Mandy: Ugh...
Joe: What?
Mandy: Thats my worst subject. I'm terrible at gym.
Joe: Well how about I help you with gym if you help me with my math?
Mandy: I guess...
-She turns her head and blushes.-
Joe: Why are you so shy?
Mandy: I just am...
Joe: Well, alright. The bell is about to ring. See you in 6th period.
Mandy: Sure...
