ch4cot4co: its the same game guys, it just includes the expansions and addon scenarios. only cost $20 too great deal (each addon is 10 by itself, and there are 3 in total. you save money at the very beginning. and the expansions are worth much more.

auronx8: FFXIV is on its way to be released next year (2010) this game can take years to get capped and geared with just one job. if u are considering buying this. DO NOT! in a few months it will all be in vein. the new MMO XIV will be released and the charecter u worked on for about 8-9 months will be garbage. - A Warning to all that consider XI

KalarMeadia: You don't HAVE to have Xbox Live Gold membership to play. SE Refused to allow this game to be hosted by Xbox until Microsoft made a special exception for it. So essentially, you're not paying your Xbox Live membership to play this game in particular, you do that for other games. This one has it's own membership fee and can be played without Xbox Live Gold.
Mannypacquia0: @KalarMeadia lol you dont understand... you have to pay a monthly fee for that yeah you probably dont need xbox live but... 15$ a month? just simply isnt worth it, well anyway thats what it was for the last game, but if this game doesnt change and it has that bull shit. lol i just wont buy it, simple as that.

KalarMeadia: You're talking to a six year subscriber here. The price you pay isn't $15 a month, it's closer to $12-13, at least, that's what my rate is, which is compariable to every other MMO out on the market right now. Sure, you pay for extra characters, but the difference is you can play every job on one character, as opposed to having to re-roll. FFXI also has changed a great deal over time. However, like all MMOs, it has it's flaws.

eagle2156: @aurronx8 yea FFXIV is around the corner but that doesnt mean dont play XI. XI is a very good game and it really fun to level so if some1 is looking for fun until XIV comes out this is a good buy imo
