Joe's P.O.V

i was so bummed out. Robin and i havent talked in days and i was majorly depressed. i cant get her out of my head! i was leaning against the wall and Nick was watching the news. and Kevin was doing God knows what. i sighed. i wish i hadnt been such a jerk.
"uhh Joe i think you need to see this" Nick called from the living room. i slunked over dragging my feet across the floor.
"what?" and he didnt respond. he just starred at the screen. i faced the screen to see that a fire was reported a few minutes ago.
"victums Toby and Robin Orchard were caught in this fire. Paramedics just loaded them in and they are being transported to Saint Josephs Hospital in Burbank." the lady announced. i froze. Robin. in a fire? my hands trembled.
"Joe?" Nick asked. "are you ok?" i became extreamly serious. i walked over and picked up the keys off the coffee table and headed for the door. "Joe wait!" Nick called. "im coming."
"me too!" kevin called from upstairs. he rushed downstairs with his shirt half tucked in. i ignored what i thought he had done and focused on the more important situation.
we got to the hospital 15 minutes later and in the waiting room, amongst the other families, were Penelope, Jesse, Katie and Robin and Toby's parents. they all looked up at us and Katie glared at me.
"im suprized you came since you dont care about Robin." she snapped.
"i wouldnt be here if i didnt." i snapped back with more venium then her.
"well you could of fooled me." she said.
"were glad you guys came," Mr. Orchard said "we need all the support we can get." Robin's mother was in tears. sobbing into her husbands shoulder.
"do you think shes ok?" she asked.
"im sure shes fine." Mr. Orchard reassured. we waited in silence for 2 or 3 hours and finally the doctor came in.
"Mr.&Mrs.Orchard?"
"yes?" they waited anxiously as the doctor collected his thoughts
"well the surgery was a success. she had burns on her arms, um, cuts from the shattered glass and a fractured wrist. and Toby had some breathing problems which were easily fixed."
"oh thank God" her mother breathed.
"thank you so much doctor" Mr. Orchard said.
"your welcome. your welcome to see them in an hour." we agreed and we were all relieved. we went down to the calfiteria to get something to eat. when we came back up to the room we quietly opened the door. there they were. Toby had a tube coming out of his throat and an IV and a heart monitor. and Robin was nearly the same except no tube but had a cast.
"Oh my God Robin!" her mom yelped out of joy. she ran over and hugged her. she groaned as she awoke from her slumber.
"mom? dad? " she said.
"yes sweetie were here" and they smiled.
"were here too" Kevin said putting his arm around all of us.
"thanks" she said and she half smiled.
"uh, Mr.&Mrs.Orchard can i speak to Robin for a second?"
"sure." they said and they turned and left.
"ALONE." i said telling my friends to leave. getting the message, they left. "hey"
"hi." she said bitterly.
"look i know ive been a really crappy friend and im really sorry." i said.
" 'really crappy' is an understatement. how could you choose the spawn of satan over me?!"
"i had to." i said.
"why?"
"cuz the REAL girl i like. i cant like her."
"y is there some sort of law that you cant like sumone?"
"no. its just shes a close friend of mine and i cant skrew anything up."
"yea i get what you mean." she replied with a sigh. "but you really hurt me."
"i know. and i feel horrible. please let me make it up to you." she sat there and thought about it.
"ok. fine. but you have to make it good ok?"
i smiled. "ok" she held out her pinky.
"pinky promise me you wont forget." she said. i took her pinky with mine.
"i promise."
