vito1860: Note how much the ZR1 caught up in the end, with its 12 Km/h higher trap speed. It surely has to do with the Corvette's new close-ratio transmission, where the Viper still struggles at high speeds with the traditional T56 ultra-long overdrive gearing in 5th and 6th gear. The Viper would have won far more easily if it'd had the same transmission gearing.

GerryK61: Hey vito1860 I don't know why you would say the Viper would have won if it had the same trans ratio's as the vette. The transmission ratio's are specific for each engine's torque curve. The viper having a V10 produces a nice flat tq curve therefor it needs less gear to accelerate. Put the vette ratio's in the Viper and it would bounce off its rev limiter so bad it would slow it down. Either way there both awsome cars & more than fast enough.

Breze84: LMAO... This is all in KPH not MPH common guy get with it... 300 KPH is around 186 MPH which is dead on what a 750hp car should do in a mile given the right gearing.... My GTO did 164 MPH in the Texas Mile and i have around 510hp...
