Muslims and Christians Flock to See Mary in Cairo Video
(ANSAmed) - CAIRO - Exorcisms and alleged apparitions of the Virgin Mary are occurring in Cairo, in two of the city's poorest neighbourhoods, and the two phenomena are drawing in throngs of the faithful, mostly Christian Copts but Muslims as well. The most recent event is the one which occurred last Friday in the El Waaraq neighbourhood, located in the Giza area. The Egyptian Gazette reports that many claim to have personally witnessed the Virgin Mary on the roof of St. Michaels church with her arms opening in their direction, while the smell of incense and a flock of doves surrounded the area. This event allegedly occurred at least twice, but a Church appointee was unable to capture it on video. People are now awaiting for the return of Copt pope Shenouda III to return to Cairo from the USA on the day after tomorrow. mgbehnan: the Orthodox faith doesn't teach that Virgin Mary was sinless, that's a catholic teaching and not orthodox. the orthodox faith honors her for she was chosen to give birth to Christ...what a great homer... if we feel just fine giving respect and honor to great preachers like billy graham, and not to the one who was the mother of Jesus Christ, then we have an issue. pauljd701: Mary was a sinner, her name was in fact Miriam but lets not get into that here. She was chosen by God as a vessel to give birth to the only begotten Son. She did not add to the Son in any way as the Son is "Begotten" which means that there is no human DNA involved. That is why the term incarnate is used. She did cry out for herself to be saved. she was declared by the church not by the word of God, as immaculate, which refers to "her"conception and this is a lie.
pauljd701: No one since the fall has been without sin, except Jesus, thats the whole point. Mary did not ascend into heavon. The Church teaches that not the bible. Only a few people ascended such as Enoch and Jesus Christ, as told in the old/new testaments.

iceykola: You will not find any tradition of St. Mary being immaculately conceived in the Orthodox Church. She is blessed and our faithful advocate before Christ our Lord to ask Him for the forgiveness of our sins. The begotten part was before the incarnation part. The Son like the Father was not flesh, but needed flesh and He took it from St. Mary, DNA and all. Christ was incarnated of the Holy Spirit and of the Virgin Mary and became man. That is the faith of the Orthodox Church.
Guardian1223: Christianity is not a "Bible Only" faith. Everything need not be proof texted from the written word. Why? Everything was not written down in the Bible Jesus left us a teaching Church guided by the Holy Spirit. Your own Bible puts the oral teachings of the Church leaders on a par with the New Testament. Also, Jesus gave Peter and his successors the keys of authority and the power to loose and bind. Where in the Bible do we read about the Sabbath being changed from Saturday to Sunday? We don't

Demons can posses anyone, unless you got the free gift of Holy Spirit. A church ( simple building ) can not received the Holy Spirit. Only Humans can. cudbwrse: May as well read from the start of the chapter. The verse you quoted is probably related to what we see now with everyone bickering with each other, against each other, in what is the "correct" belief.
