This was a complete disaster for the GOP and conservative movement. Thing is - most people don't care about these elections. Their candidate is President and they control the House and Senate. The NJ election was to punish Wall Street. Just wait for real elections to begin, and real people start voting. Conservatism is dead.

Conservative is NOW the largest group of ideology again over independant. Where is the liberal base? Try LAST. Independant DOES NOT MEAN liberal. He has to go on a 6 part crusade to attempt to own LiberalViewer and ends one of his videos with weak slam about Lib's childishness. Are we really going that route? I used to be a hardcore Conservative Republican and I have some sympathy for his argument, but only to a point. And upon watching some of his presentations I cringed at some of the more blatant falsehoods and outright spin from HTWW.

hijinxcavalry: This video is riddled with errors. At about 5:30 you get Bob McDonnell wrong. He ran as a moderate pragmatist. His opponent Deeds tried to cast BM as a conservative, but BM kept returning to issues like transportation and job creation. BM won because he ran a positive & inclusive campaign. You're arguments that the NY election is irrelevant, while NJ and VA are relevant, doesn't make any sense. Either they all matter, or none of them matter.
demsco: I live right next to it and have family who live in Old Forge, so I am familiar with the area. Hoffman did not even live in the district, which is a huge issue for that region. Also, national figures in that area are not well received. LiveralViewer is an idiot and did not consider any of those facts. Not to mention that Hoffman had the charisma of a rock. It is also curious to see that 11,000 absentee ballots are not being mentioned, they are from Ft Drum so they are probably for Hoffman.

I think their our lessons to be learned all around, but at the end of the day it was only a 2 races that went to the GOP and 1 House seat that seems to be going Democratic. This is just a prequel for 2010 and it didn't help the Dems that Corzine was mostly known for being an accident that was his fault. He was not a liked man by even the Democrats. The only two things to take from this is will the lack of Dem turnout repeat in 2010. continued.
joecraine69shimself: As I told other Democrats, winning and getting in office is the easy part. And as far the GOP is concerned, it would interesting to see if the urging of so-called "RINOs" and pushing the party further right will work. I'm highly skeptical as it may work for the base, but you ultimately have to win the middle vote. And if you're to run as staunch conservatives, make sure to not have a repeat of the Republicans during the Bush era. If were not for them, I'd probably still be with the GOP.
