A Sunday In St Paul Video

Nov. 1st 2009 was spent with some famous Minnesotans... Charles M. Schulz, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Prince. Okay, not exactly, but sort of. And I had to edit the Prince music back out or the little purple bastard would probably sue may ass for copyright infringement. But, that's okay. With the Peanuts gang all over this sucker a bit of Beethoven and jazz piano fit better, anyway. We had lunch at Mickey's Diner, haunted by Emilio Estavez in the film "The Mighty Ducks". A good time was had by all until we smelled some nasty dog poo. I think it was Snoopy's.

kismet0717: Thx for takin me on a Minne tour! Hehe I loved the sculptures. Dang poo! I love dinners....I miss them. ;( HugZ!
TheBlueFlamingo: Yes, the dog poo really killed the mood.
TheBlueFlamingo: ha ha! You actually might be smelling the dog shit we smelled. It was BAD!
TheBlueFlamingo: The food was really good and the price wasn't bad, either!
Bl4zz3r: Cool diner. I like those greasy spoon types :)
TheBlueFlamingo: Oh, Eden. What a disappointment you are to the YouTube community. Kidding, of course! Ha ha! I guess I could have climbed onto Charlie Brown's lap with Snoopy or something!
TheBlueFlamingo: Well, next time come on up! We should have a YouTube gathering there next year or something. Ooo! What an idea! St. Paul is a really nice city, from what I've seen. There's cole slaw in the bowl. You have to mix in your own dressing. Never seen it done like that before! We have a spare room, but it's full of crap and has a leaky roof. That should be fixed soon, though.
TheBlueFlamingo: Ah, yes. Julie's camera works pretty well for covert camera work. It's small and it's a regular looking camera. No one (except clowns) expect that you might be shooting video with it. I don't think I've ever smelled dog crap that was that bad! You could smell it a block away!
TheBlueFlamingo: I think I squealed like a little girl when I first saw the statues. I think I heard about them some time ago, but had forgotten.
TheBlueFlamingo: I loved the Peanuts scuptures, if you couldn't tell. (Ha ha). We have one really good diner in this town, too. We go there at least once a month.
dagocleo: now that is a real diner ! like I remember them in North America ! loved those statues !!! and great countryside, take care !!!
1DRock37167: Prince would hae had your video pulled down before you put it up! Now thats a real diner with a real burger! I remember when McDs had real meat in theirs!
TheKiDFoX: Next time I will have to take you to a Dunn Brothers Coffee shop so you can see if you like it. There are a couple of nice locations in old buildings in Minneapolis that I have gone to on several occasions and we walked past one in St. Paul. I should have asked if you wanted to go in as there wasn't good coffee anywhere else. No more driving the wrong way on one way streets or driving on the light rail line. I think I have used up my chances to do that and not die now.
TheBlueFlamingo: Coffee aside, I did have a good time in St. Paul. I loved the statues and the food at the diner was good.
TheBlueFlamingo: I was thinking of you when I wrote that line in the description. Yeah, you could sort of hear "My Name Is Prince" on the car stereo in a couple of the first shots. I figured Prince would come unglued if I dared put five seconds of that song in my video. That was a real burger and it was GOOD! I always liked the combination of toppings on Big Macs, I just think the meat tastes like rubber bands now.
TheBlueFlamingo: Yeah, it's getting harder to find a really good diner. They're slowly being replaced by chain restaurants like Denny's, Perkins and Village Inn. But, once in a while you can find one.
TheBlueFlamingo: Me too!
DearestBecky: When I saw the word Mickey I thought maybe they had a theme up there of Mickey Mouse. Then I saw the word diner and I knew I wouldn't see Mickey Mouse. LOL I do like the way an old fashion diner looks though. We have one here but the name is Floyd's Diner.
TheBlueFlamingo: Nope! No Mickey Mouse in this one, just the Peanuts. Mickey's is, I guess, one of the few remaining authentic dining car diners that were popular back in the thirties and forties. I loved it!
imperceptibleme: Whoa!! Mickey's Diner was packed! Must have been really good food! Aww, look at the Peanuts gang! I'm assuming they were bronze statues? Hugs Adrian... thanks for taking us with you!
mehquig: A most enjoyable little vid... I like those little touches like the camera in the car mirror :)
mehquig: You could have used a bit of Vince Guaraldi in the music score :)
TheBlueFlamingo: It was good food. And it's tiny! I'm not sure what the statues were made of, but bronze is a great guess. That's what it looked like to me, too.
TheBlueFlamingo: Thanks! I'm usually very conscience of where I am and try not to get my reflection or shadow in the shot, but this time I went for it.
TheBlueFlamingo: I know. But, I'm trying so hard not to use copyrighted stuff in this channel. I got tired of being hassled by YouTube in my old channel.
