Craig is on the Council of the Movement for Christian Democracy, the Canning Town Partnership Board and the Council for Racial Equality in Newham.

He is known for his campaign against the East London Markaaz 'Olympics Mega-Mosque'.

cfrb: Quan specifies 4 witnesses only when someone is accusing a female of adultery. It doesnt say anything about 4 witnesses on rape Rape is treated as criminal case where the judge analyses the evidence which can be dna, witnesses camer etc and then gives a verdict. it doesnt need 4 witnesses. it is similar to the current western laws, except th punshment is a lot harsher...ie death sentence. hope sbd corrects adnan on this

cfrb: also same for Apostasy, Quran says the punishment is hell..but doesnt specify any earthly punishment. Infact it talks about apostates leaving Islam then joining, then leaving then joining etc.. talks nothing about killing.

Shadi1007: The person in the video made a mistake when saying Islam demands 4 witnesses for rape. This is absolutely false and not a single school of Islamic thought says this.

ajizbilal: Shadi1007, Adnan is right and you are wrong because all schools are unanimous in stating that if a woman accuses a man, she must provide 4 witnesses, as she might be playing with someone's honour. Rape issue is not black and white judgment may vary based upon circumstances. Cfrb, please check Sahih al-Bukhari for the punishment of apostasy. Quran is not the only source of Islam. When these guys debate, they do their research.

ajizbilal: And also, what if a woman sleeps with her husband or boyfriend and in the morning accuses her husband of raping her, is it fair to use DNA evidence in that case? Islam protects woman and the man. Both must, equally, provide witnesses. Please check up on this and you will be enlightened. peace

MrGrandDragon: @ajizbilal Umm that is not correct. If a Woman is RAPED then she does not have to provide any witnesses at all... I think the four witnessed are only needed for Adultery and fornication. The purpose for the four witnesses is to conceal the sin unless the sinner confesses out of guilt. The difference between rape and Adultery/fornication is that Rape is not consensual whereas Adultery often is consensual.

MrGrandDragon: @TruthbHeard he claim that rape victims require four witnesses to seek justice for their case is untrue and a false lie propagated by those who either do not have any knowledge in Islamic law or want to prove a so-called weakness in the hadd laws. Circumstantial evidence is sufficient and the judge can invoke his judgment based upon takzir (his own discretion).

Shadi1007: I don't know if your backwards Saudi Arabian wahabi/salafi anti sunni fiqh requires a woman to be raped in front of 4 males in order for her to be believed. The requirements for rape and Zina are completely different,no man would rape a woman in front of 4 pious men are you that narrow minded? In sahih bukhari a single person told the prophet this man raped so and so,the prophet SAW had the hadd punishment carried out on him.

This situation actually occurred in the bukhari hadith,the prophet made both couples ask Allah to bring punishment on who was lying. The prophet SAW did not order the man killed,the person who you see speaking is not an imam,just a wahabi puppet.

Shadi1007: No where,not a single fuqaha,not a single hadith verse,not a single quran verse,not a single respectable classical scholar nor contemporary scholar not even the wahabi scholars have said that rape requires 4 witnesses. You honestly want to make us believe that in order to prove rape,the rapist has to be dumb enough to rape a woman in front of 4 pious people? Like I said there is a hadith in SAHIH BUKHARI that only required the testimony of the rape victim and ONE man,and the rapist was killed.

Read my words again, if a woman accuses a man, she needs witnesses. if we were to follow your sufi/shia logic, the question would arise as to who would commit adultry in front of 4 pious witnesses.
