Iron Jawed Angels Part 1/12 Video

If you are a Woman, or a young lady breathing today this movie is a must see! It will give you a glimpse into the enormous effort that became a movement known as "The First Wave Of Feminism" The American Suffrage Movement. Our Foremothers fought hard, never flinched, and never looked back. As a "Third Waver" this film, depicting some of my greatest heroines, fills me will overwhelming pride.

brebre1920: love this movie!
brebre1920: this movie is so emotional for me! are u a feminist?
brebre1920: amen!!! i mean a womyn! lol
shadowkitty56: I am what they call a moderate feminist (never did sit well with me that we should respell half the English language because a word simply contains the suffix -man...there is no point when there are bigger things to do....) However, I love this movie and I have an odd feeling that the 2020 election would be a fitting tribute to these ladies....if the President turned out to be MADAM President
godluven44: mzing quality video
godluven44: no matter who you are, feminist or sexist, you should not choose a president baed on gender. or race or religion or anything like that for that matter. it should be based soley on qualifications and ideals.
shadowkitty56: Fair enough: personally, I would trade a dozen mediocre politicians for just one I could believe in. I guess I should have been more clear before: the 19th Amendment was passed in 1920. I think it would be wonderful if, on the 100th anniversary, a female was chosen as President and Alice Paul could look down from heaven and see a woman not only have a say in living under the government of her country, but be its leader.
shadowkitty56: Plus, there would be that tiny possibility of another first that makes me smile and laugh: imagine a 37 year old woman in an evening gown entering to Hail to the Chief at a State dinner. Now imagine her waddling over to ask the chef for an extra helping of cheese: she's not only the first female US president, but the first female head of state to get pregnant while in office (her opponents accuse her of doing it on purpose to make her point about lax maternity leave laws....)
yourockedherworld: Does anyone know the name of the song at the beginning!?
DragonflyNoir10: It's called "Everything You Want" by Vertical Horizon
Emrald70: as a man i would like to personally apologise for any sexism todays women have to endure i was brought up to believe women should be respected whatever they do even if they are housewives, the point is that today most of them are housewives because they CHOOSE to be rather than because they have to other choice and in the end, isn't that wat equal rights is about
mineowyn: perpetrators of sexism aren't only men. it is the views of society as a whole (both men and women) that aid and abet sexist practices.
DragonflyNoir10: I agree that for far to long we women have ignored our negligence in society insofar as we participate, and sometimes perpetuate sexist stereotypes. That's something I'm devoted to changing. Thank you for the comment!
Dustgirl123: we saw this in my social skills class. I really liked it. And the mini montage at the begining was perfect!
blakeyes13: Thank you so much for putting this up!! iv been waiting for it to come on here!! really appreciate it!
liquidc2: All young adults should see this movie before they register to vote for the first time. I think they should see how important this right is.
MissGorjus09: what i think is wierd no offnce to anybody but men in that time thot themselves like kings while the women were like slaves to them only fit to clean and cook , but thinik about it there was a woman prime minister a lot of the great novelists were girls like Emily Bronte And Charlotte bronte and jacquline wilson adn not forgeting stephanie meyer! i cant belive how men could thiknk that women wernt mentaly smart enough to vote! AGAIN NO OFFENCE MEANT BY THIS POST! aNY ONE AGREE ITH ME HERE?!
LillyBaybeehx3: we watched this in my social studies class ; only one part tho like in the middle . i criedd when they tiedd her down . i thouqht they was qonnna kill her ; lols ; -_- . i love thisss moviee =)
