i was leaning agaisnt my headbored on my bed, smoking a cigurate when joe woke up. he started coughing and flinging his hand in front of his bed.

joe: what the fuck demi!?!?
he yelled while he sat up in bed naked, while i was in his boxers and shirt. i smiled and took another puff. he grabbed it out of my hand and put it out in the ashtray beside him on the bed. joe grabbed that too and put it on the nightstand on his side of the bed.

joe: smoking is not good for you dems. -scowls-
me: and so is having sex with my "dad" -air quotes-
joe: -winces-
me: -smiles-
he then decided to change topics.

joe: why do you cut yourself?
he gently took my arm with the cuts in his hand. he ran his nose along the scares and the lightly kissed them. it left me dumb founded. joe looked back at me staring into my eyes with his deep brown ones.

me:why do you care... -whispers- you wouldnt care if i dropped dead right now...
joe: you never told me or even WANTED me to care now did you!?!? -yells and releaces arm- i never did because i didnt want you to be mad at me or hate me. -says softer and turns toward the wall-
me: well sweetheart, that happened a long time ago -stares at his back-
he looked over his shoulder at me.

joe: well then demi.... thats bad for isnt it? because i love you... sweetheart.
and with that he got up and walked out of my room, wearing only his shorts. i jumped out of bed and ran after him, nearly falling down the stairs 3 times. i ran into a room when i heard the t.v on. and there was joe laying on his back, on the couch, staring up at the ceiling. i quietly walked over to the couch and got on top of him. i sat on his stomach close to his area. the corners of his mouth lifted, but then fell.

i grabbed his hands and pulled him into a sitting position, me now on his lap, with my legs on either side of him. joe looked me in the eyes and began stroking my dark hair. i put both hands on the sides of his face and brought his face 2 inches from mine.

me: please say it again... -whispers-

ive been waiting for those words for so long.
